Lol exactly. And it very well may be a perfectly appropriate outfit for the occasion. Very casual but clean outfits shouldn't be considered a "don't" versus a more dressed up look. It's situational!

Yeah, I would have to agree with this, dressing up denim shorts is fun, but it is situational, sometimes you’re doing something that’s kind of dirty or sweaty and you don’t want to get a bunch of dirt all over your nice white blouse.

I think it’s more about shapes, I wouldn’t do a button up shirt either. Just pair it with a looser white Tshirt for the same effect

She should add the "do xyz if you want to achieve the same sophisticated elegant style that I portray". In fashion nothing is inherently wrong bc you achieve different effects and looks by combining different pieces of clothing. People like her just help others that want to achieve a specific look and don't know how to.

actual relatable tip: absolutely wear the tshirts with the denim shorts. just tuck it in, or even just tuck in the front, to emphasize the silhouette. add a belt if you feel like it. there, you’ll totally look like you tried! and it’ll actually be practical lol

Hm, but I’m sensing your style to be more formal casual. I would never wear blazers or a collared shirt unless I was going to an interview lol I think this is just dependent on your choice of style

Seriously - if I wear denim shorts I usually don't need a jacket. If I need a jacket I'll not wear shorts because it's too cold 🤷🏻‍♀️

It all depends on style. These do's and don'ts seem to be geared for the "a Karen raised me" aesthetic. Bland and suburban. Glam for soccer practice vibes. Very "I drive an SUV not a minivan" So like.. cool if that's what you're going for

I think it’s just that specific type of denim shorts that make those combos look weird. It’s pretty common to pair high waisted shorts with a crop top

I have noticed a pattern in your videos. You pair most of the things with white shirt. If you don't like a style, you don't put effort in accessorising or hair style so it looks terrible and people believe what you're suggesting actually works.

I love the casual one. Not every look should be glamorous. If you feel good in your shorts and t-shirt, if it fits well, you'll rock it for sure. To look more put together add at least 2-3 accessories THAT'S ALL As a personal stylist i want people to feel comfy and true to themselves

Same! I just have to stay away from short denim now, but I look so much better since I learned what fits my body instead! Light, flowy midi skirts have been a godsend for me since I learned I’m a romantic body type!

It seems to be about the combo's, not about the shorts themselves. Here some golden rules for denim shorts: 1) 100% cotton, 2) No frays/distress and proper hems, 3) 3-7 inch inseam regardless of gender. 4) No peek inside, we don't want to see cameltoes and camelballs, so if short (3" inseam) make sure the leg opening fits close to the thigh.

Am I the only one that thinks trying to dress up denim shorts is ridiculous? It's one of the most casual non dressy items out there, the entire point is to be casual/practical and to keep you cool in hot temperatures. Wearing blazers or stilettos with jorts feels so try hard. Just wear shorts in a fancier material/cut, problem solved.
