@@juneschaffner Ok WOW Do I feel dumb I spent all morning looking for the priceless ear tag. I thought maybe Shrimp got a ear tag before he left, along with banding. So I rewatched the Had to go video fast forwarding rewinding ect looked at the new merchandise did not see it finally clicked on the see more and one of those links got me to the ear tag. Yep I did feel dumb, Yes I agree that is priceless on the Christmas list for sure. :) :) :)

The highland cows near me have a couple of llamas for security. Llamas are the equivalent of smokie for your cow herd. They are very protective of their herd mates.

Poor little highland cow I think he is missing his mama. Too bad you couldn't sell shrimp to Lester! I would recommend that you get a brush for a highland cow. I have seen people who raise the Highland cows and it's Hands-On everyday there brushing their hairs and putting their hands on them so they become very friendly.

I'm sorry to see that Shrimp is leaving the farm but I get it. You're wanting to build a herd of Highlands and don't need the extra mouth to feed. It was great getting to see Case stepping up and helping with moving "Sean Connery" into the pasture with the beefy boys and shrimp. Blessings

A good idea would be to give the newbie a few bottle feeds and get him used to a halter, so you can control him when he's a big boy and for grooming, cos they enjoy being groomed.

Highland cattle are beautiful. He doesn't even look like a little bull yet he looks like a big shaggy dog. He's so adorable just want to brush his hair and hug him. Highlands are pretty friendly too. Gonna miss the beefy boys but I was raised on a working homestead too and truly understand the concept of raising your own food. Good luck with Fred and toodles to Shrimp..

Hey Chad and Case. Good to see y'all again. Been researching highlanders. I think it's an excellent choice. Sure everyone loves Shrimp but Fred is just a more economical choice, excellent meat, less prone to illness, forages all types of items, (nearly like a goat), more docile than some cattle, and can tolerate cool temps better. Just all around great choice. Building a nice fold of them would be really nice. (plus they are so cute. lol). Best wishes to all of you. : )

It was heartwarming to see Chase and Smokey, While she loves you, Adler and Grandpa, Chase is her boy even if he isn't there all the time. DO NOT get bred heiffers, get bred COWS. Heiffers can and usually do have some issues calving the first time. Until you have been thru a calving or two go with the older cows they have less problems at birthing. And yes he is still looking for momma. It usually passes within a week. God bless

Love listening to him bellow. Scotland isn't an island, there are some Isles and they are well worth a visit. Shrimp is good looking so he'll find a new home easily. When you get some females will you milk them for you and the family.? Seen it done where the keep the young calf in an adjoining paddock over night, then they can get a litre of milk and there is plenty for the calf after. So happy that your going down the Highland route ,and like you said Shrimp is better so your job is done. Xxx

YES IT'S SAD WHEN THE ANIMALS ARE GONE OR WHATEVER BUT IT'S A FARM NOT A PETTING ZOO. IF PEOPLE HAVE A PROBLEM THERE ARE PLENTY OF SANCTUARY OR RESCUE CHANNELS OUT THERE. KEEP DOING WHAT YOU'RE DOING AND PUTTING OUT THOSE VIDEOS.

Chad you did a great job giving Shrimp the chance he may not have had where he was. You got him healthy. I am sure the new farm will tale great care of him.

I’m excited that you’re getting more Highland cows. I understand why you can’t keep Shrimp. Your land can only support so many.
