22:00 The reason the ancient Indians invented Sanskrit and cultivated a scholars or Brahmins whose mandate was to preserve the knowledge through an oral tradition! This is precisely why the Xian and Islamic invaders killed Brahmins and Pandits whenever they could. And they are still doing it - from Kashmir to Tamil Nadu(Dravidian parties).

1:02:00 the future of 'history of india Was my one of my fav segments from the whole podcast. Jay said "geneticists" would help alot in verifying the migrations and also telling new stories of migrations. I jyst want to make an addition (and also want to know if what I'm saying is right), that: With the decipherment of the millions of untranslated sanskrit (and probably even in many more languages) texts, we would inevitably stumble upon new avenues of our written history. And that may disrupt the whole present of indian history.

1:00:06 What about Satrubhanja and the Nagas of Vindyatabi that ruled from Keonjhar. In his Asanpat inscription he talked about a war where all the Naga tribes united to defeat the last Kushanas(and there royal family jumped to Ganga and commited suicide). If you read the story of Kaundinya(Kalinga merchant who became a Cambodian king) and the Funan , the Nagas were a tribe in ancient Cambodia.

Hi Jay Vardhan bhai, this was amazing to listen to, Vaad wali conversation se bhi zada achha laga, asaan shabdon mein (hindi) mein tha, aur ek birdseye view mil gaya reasoning ke sath. But i have just one question Here @53:50 you say that nothing was industrialised.. I am not against it, but from what I've heard is that we used to produce textile, steel, and spices at a somewhat industrial level then. Morover, the unstichhed silk garments greeks wore, alot of them came from the then indian merchants. (Probably)Thereby, telling the greeks that we are territory worth looting. So, my question is that, can we say that what i know is true, or is it true for a later time period, and how conclusive is the evidence which suggests that. I ask the conclusiveness of the evidence, because i want to know if a future discovery can change our view. Thanks bhai itta read karna pada, pr bhai literally you are the best historian in india right now. Please keep doing what you are doing 🙂.

How does one know that certain paragraphs are added later on and was not part of the core text?
@RnR1001
@RnR1001 Жыл бұрын
Because the things that are in the text may not be suited for that time period. Example has been given in this discussion that there is the mention of Greeks and huns. Indians would have known about Greeks only after 500 BCE, same thing with Huns, they would have only have known about Huns after 500 CE.
@jashseta7927
@jashseta7927 Жыл бұрын
Isn't there a possibility that we might be knowing about Greeks and Huns at the time when the original text was written? Similarly, the mentioned about a paragraph from Mahabharat where Bhishma is explaining to Yudhishthir, they mention that it describes reality of Mauryan Empire so it must have been added at that time... What if this dialogue in Mahabharat is present from the beginning and if at all it describes reality of Mauryan Empire, the Mauryans must have taken inspiration from this text and set up their kingdom inspired by this dialogue. Please correct if I am thinking in wrong direction

@@jashseta7927Do you think these books were available so freely in market that , ministers of maurya empire read it and then thought of doing exactly like that. but then how is then the original author credited?.. if ved vyasa wrote mahabharat , how can someone add something to it? and i am sure ved vyasa wasnt alive to keep writing 10th or 11th editions of the mahabharat..... was it crowd sourced? was ved vyasa like a group of authors whose pen name was ved vyasa.. was it like a position.... that the successors could edit the religious text? for example : i cant add 3 chapters to game of thrones ... and call it layered novel/text , its not my text to edit... Plus i dont think Indian ancient history can be carbon dated to the exact age .....especially the satya yug , treta and dwapar because the indian knowledge system followed oral tradition.... transference was oral in nature by way of recitation, so even if our historical texts are carbon dated.... it would only give us a recent date because only later on it was brought to print.... so if you apply western standards to our history it wont fit , because its not one size fits all

No.. Hoever, till date there have been no separate manuscript of Bhārata Or jaya found to support the above theory. Then again in the sixty-second chapter of the Ādi Parva, before reciting to narrate the story to Janamjayeya, vaishampayna explaining to the Importance of the Mahābhārata, says, ‘These 100,000 shlokas have been comosed by ved vyas..

@meteor541 the sixty-second chapter o the Ādi Parva, before starting to narrate the story to janamejaya, vaishampāyana, while exlaining to him the importance of the Mahābhārata, says, ‘These 100,000 shlokas have been composed by ved vyas , the son of Satyavati. This great story o the birth and lives o the rogeny of Bharata is called the Mahābhārata.’ In the same chapter Ādi Parva 62, vaishampāyana tells janamejaya ‘This itihāsa by the should be heard by all who desire or victory.’ It seems to suggest that jaya is another name or this history o Bhāratas-the Mahābhārata. The above the context-setting shlokas added by Ugrashravā and Vaishampāyana are in addition to the 100,000 shlokas of Vyāsa. It is very unlikely that additions, modifications and deletions have happened to the shlokas over years. But the theory of the evolution of Jaya into Bhārata intoMahābhārata seems unlikely based on what the text tells us.
