I’ve been running cooper at3 since day one on my trucks and have never had an issue . Expensive n wear fairly quickly but a safe tire in any condition. I’m plated at 40k

Thanks for the info.. I just started a new cdl hot shot business and gotten cleared to go. Now all the brokers are telling me I can’t haul for them until my MC has been active 90 days. What’s your advice on getting loads? Can’t wait 90 days to start making money.

We had to use LandStar and TQL a lot at first. We hated to do it but you have to generate income. I would advise trying to get a couple inspections on your equipment as well. Some a requiring that also.

Almost half the states now have a Federal inspection program equivalent to the DOT inspection. "Motor carriers may meet periodic inspection requirements through a State inspection program that FMCSA has deemed equivalent to its Federal inspection requirements." When you get your annual commercial inspection on your truck for your state it should show on your VIR (vehicle inspection report) that the inspection complies with FMCSA 49 CFR 396.17 - 396.23 which is a DOT inspection. These states fall under that. Alabama (only LPG Board) California Connecticut District of Columbia Hawaii Louisiana Maine Maryland Massachusetts Michigan (bus inspection program) Minnesota New Hampshire New Jersey New York Ohio (church bus inspection program) Pennsylvania Rhode Island Texas Utah Vermont Virginia West Virginia Wisconsin (bus inspection program)

@@TRTHotshot Any time! I actually almost paid someone to conduct an annual dot for my truck when I didn’t have to, saved myself some money. I was wondering why I couldn’t find a place in my state that does annual dot’s. Because all commercial inspections are the equivalent!

On the paper logs do you actually fill them out or do you just wait to fill them out if something happened to the ELD?

No sir. Just as a back up in case your ELD fails. And it is a violation if you do not have one for back up. Eight days is what you need. The ones at the truckstop sells those little packets. And it is eight days worth of logs. It’s also mandatory that you have your ELD manual as well. People don’t know that. And that is also a violation.

I am working on getting my Class B CDL. Do you guys hire new CDL drivers? I have been pulling a 32’ gooseneck most of my life and 28’ stock trailer. Currently a technician in the oil field and working 120 hrs a week is getting old. Getting older and loosing the drive to work then hrs and turn wrench’s/electrical.
