Tekken 8 is hard... and I am bad at tekken. But I really want to learn. Thats why today I am hopping into some online Tekken ranked matches with Leo to take on the kazumas and devil jins of the world in order to learn how to play the game

Fr i got tekken god after hours on hours of playing tekken 7 and I kept learning stuff almost every match and in tekken 8 especially at the start I’m learning so much new stuff when it comes to mechanics

Doto, R2 is Rage Art and R1 is Heat either activator or Heat Drive if you're already in Heat. You don't have to pull up simple controls to use those buttons.

Don't even need those, the inputs for Rage art and heat is universal to all characters: df+both punches (1+2) for rage art, right punch+left kick (2+3) for heat. Likewise they made every character's 1+2 throw the same input across the cast: uf+1+2.

This is such an inspiration. I'm a completely new player in Tekken, and I'm clearing all the SP content to unlock all the Ghost's Treasure costumes for all the characters, and I'm unlocking all the pictures & cutscenes right now with Reina but watching Leo in action, I decided that she will be my main character. Her Bajiquan moveset and the outfits are just too cool to let her pass. Watching you having a laugh at everything that this character does it's just so enjoyable. You got my sub, excellent video.

Doto your content and energy is what got me to put in the work and learn how to really play DBFZ. As someone more versed with Tekken, I know Tekken has a whole lot going on but you got this! I would love to see you playing Tekken on the channel more!

Just a tip and in case you still don't know. Tekken's neutral is mostly about poking and positioning. Since you play other fighting games, you are already familiar with positioning. For poking, you poke better, you convert more combos. So you can start from practicing characters' pokes in case you don't know where to start. Think of fighterz when you try to open up your enemies on the corner by poking a little bit and delaying some of your attacks to test his/her defense. That same thing applies here. Sometimes when both players are good at defending. The match won't even have any combos converted at all. It will become a poking battle where both players try to slowly chip each other's HP till one dies. Anyway, this is a fun video and I hope you do moreeee~!

@yawarsaeed5176 well there's a solution to every problem in fighting games. If you feel there's spammers you need only to find the break in the spam like look for a turn steal or punish them on unsafe spam. Yes the game is far more aggressive, but you can still play smart against mindless spam.

@@yawarsaeed5176Tekken 8 exposes bad defence (not intended as an insult). Defence is still king in this game, and the people that were solid in 7 are still solid. The only big difference is one extra forced mix per round. And most characters don't have a particularly scary option out of it.

Ive been playing Tekken since Tekken 3 but have always been too timid or scared to play online. Ive played online 3 times; once in T6, once in TTT2 and once in T7 and got so badly destroyed and even humiliated by message that i never did it again But after seeing you have so much fun even while not doing well at the start, i think youve encouraged me to give it one more try in T8!

More Tekken please! I also hope I run into in ranked! Also idk what controller you are using but rage art is mapped to R2 by default. I would also suggest mapping 1+2 to like L2 or L1 it helps with the third types of throws/ teching them.

Ok. Tips from someone who started tekken in Christmas of 23. Set up your controls where your 1+2 3+4 and 2+4 and 1+3 are all assigned to your controller. You also need to assign your rage art and heat engaged 2+3 somewhere to make it easy to access. From there just make sure to practice the controls. My setup is l1 l2 are both throws and r1 r2 are 1+2 and 3+4 respectively

Bro I've been labbing hardcore my hands are starting to hurt. Always fun to see new people getting into the game, some of my earliest memories are playing Tekken 3 with my brother. For anyone reading this you can bind buttons to L1 L2, etc. Makes button combos like square and triangle much easier to do. Definitely wanna see you play some Bryan, he's a fun, respectful guy.

Crazy how you and Seereax never played these but while I played Tenkaichi games growing up, I had all the Soul Calibers, Tekkens, KOF, Dead Or Alive series, etc. You guys should try out the main protagonists of the game Kazuya and Jin those guys are the most fun. My mains were always Steve Fox, King or Yoshimitsu. HIGHLY recommend Tekken Tag Tournament 2!

Hello Doto, I'm the local Jin main here to shill to you my beloved Jin Kazama. You may think of him as the "Ryu" of this game but he's not quite a jack of all trades, he's more of a King of all trades with some top tier pokes, visceral and satisfying combo routing and is probably the craziest case of easy to pick up but difficult to master I've ever seen but I'm hooked on him and I hope u get hooked too

Keep up the good work and you'll have it down in no time. I reached dominator which was a huge achievement for me cause last time i played tekken was forever ago, i tried 7 and refunded it twice within a hour of playtime. But tekken 8 ive played 27.7 hours so far, got dominator rank and im happy. If i may offer a good tip which helped me was go to practice mode on your character and go to your movelist, look for moves that specialize hit on block cause those are so important for when your enemy blocks these are moves that can get around it unless they start playing perfect. Im a jun main for example so for me i have a way to set up 56 - 58 damage combo my go to if i land it. Now if they start to block it ill do the same sequence but i can change my move so now ill do a low mid combo sweeping them off their feet and doing a big damage hit afterwards which not as good as if i land the entire combo but great way to chunk hp. Another move i got is 2 jabs into a grab. And i got 2 other sets of moves ill use when fighting. If you learn 1 or 2 things that work thats good but once you get to yellow ranks you need a lot more cause its just a entirely different game at this current point in tekken 8. You need at least a few different gameplans so more you add your arsenal the better. But mastering a few go to and building off that is def easiest way to advance in the game. Btw not telling you how to play but more in hopes this advice you could maybe find useful :)

General rule of thumb doto, exceptions are obvious but Highs generally have the best frame advantage, but u can punish heavily by crouching under them. Mids are more minus, mids that end strings are often straight up unsafe, and most lows are punishable on block, but u can also parry them by pressing Down and forward instead of down and back.
