Hello, my name is Rion. I was born and raised in Osaka, Japan.
I know a lot of this town Minami Dotonbori (Namba, Osaka),
So I introduce pretty much all popular and my favorite restaurant in Dotonbori food street!
There are just so many restaurants in Dotonbori and Hozenji Yokocho, so hope you can watch this video before you travel and you can have an idea before you visit Osaka, Japan😉

Here is the list of restaurant and place I introduce!!
1. Glico Running man (Dotonbori symbol sign)
Glico Running man sign is right next to Ebisu-bashi, beside the Dotonbori canal (Guided by local, TOP 5 Places where you should take Selfy and photo in Dotonbori Osaka !! #121: • Guided by local, Near ... )
2. Kani Doraku (Giant crab)
It is one of the symbol of Dotonbori. Usually it costs between 5,000 JPY to 10,000 JPY per person.
3. Bikkuri Donkey (Hamberg steak restaurant)
One of my favorite Hmaber steak chain restaurant in Japan.
Even it's a chain restaurant, their hamberg steak is so good !!
4. Botejyu (Okonomi-yaki, Teppan-yaki restaurant)
Okonomi-yaki is a Osaka's soul food, and this restaurant has over 70 years history!!
5. Honolulu coffee
This is a really good place to take a rest in Dotonbori!!
6. Osaka Ohsho
Osaka Ohsho (Gyoza no Ohsho) is a really popular Japanese Chinese food restaurant in Japan.

7. Kukuru (Huge Octopus :Kukuru Konamon-Museum)
Kukuru is traditional Takoyaki restaurant! They focus on using good Octopus compare to other Takoyaki!
8. Juhachi ban (Huge takoyaki symbol)
Juhachi ban is really good Takoyaki restaurant! Their Takoyaki is so tasty and good!!

9. Arcabuz (Dotonbori Fishing pond)
This is the place where you can enjoy indoor fishing!!

10. Torikizoku (hidden Yakitori restaurant)
Torikizoku is my favorite chain Yakitori restaurant. (but be careful they don't open in lunch time)

11. Hozenji Yokocho (Hidden Alley)
Hozenji Yokocho is super traditional Japanese look tiny street.
There are many traditional restaurant, and temple as well.

12. Dango stall
You can enjoy 3 different kinds of Dango, price is 200 JPY (2 USD)!
It is really good for snack! They have Mitrashi (Sweet soy sauce), Matcha, and Kinako (Soybean powder) tastes !!
13. Kushikatsu Daruma (Man's huge face)
Kushikatsu is traditional Osaka food!
Kushikatsu is a deep fried skewer! Their Kushikatsu is really good!
Make sure, try Kushikatsu before you leave Osaka!!
14. Kinryu Ramen (Huge dragon)
Kinryu is very classic Ramen restaurant! It is not fancy, but you can try the classic Ramen taste in Namba, Osaka.

Rion Ishida hi! At the end of your video if you walk further we have a favorite curry shop almost in front of a Sukiya. It’s Curry House T&A. I know it’s a chain but it’s been our tradition it eat there every time we visit Osaka. The old gentleman running the store is very friend and nice. 😊

I was in Dotonburi in October 2016. The cartoonish restaurants, combined with the cool autumn air was such an exhilarating experience. The delicious and varied food made my visit a truly multi sensory experience. I would go back in a heartbeat.

Omg!.. Rion, this is so awesome and super helpful. In Dotonbori the M ( Matsusaka) very good but kinna pricey. And Ichiran is also a good noodle restaurant to try. Thank you so much for your invaluable sharing. Since you are a local from Osaka it is so useful for tourist like me to try more restaurants. Love this❤❤❤👏👏👏

I've been to Tokyo twice, but this Nov it will be my 1st time visiting Kansai area, mainly Osaka & Kyoto. A lot of research shows restaurant which are famous for tourist, but not necessarily good. Your videos are so detailed and gave so much more genuine insight! Thank you. Maybe if I'm lucky, perhaps will bump into you at Osaka this Nov!😆

Arigatooo Teddy😆😆 Speaking of the snow, if it’s mid of Feb, it’s possible to see snow, but it’s really warmer here compare to last year, so not sure😅 If you go to the north part of Kyoto, I think it’s very possible to see snow though😊

Kansai (west part of Japan) has totally different atmosphere compare to Kanto (East part of Japan), so you will enjoy the difference for sure😉 Osaka is fun city! and Kyoto is a beautiful city! I've been wanting to photograph a lot of places in Kyoto, especially the really old looking buildings and streets ever since, we didn't get the chance to see much of that in Tokyo 😅 Tokyo is still a really beautiful place though albeit a bit more modernized. I remember only eating mostly curry and ramen during our stay hahaha

@@RionIshida I would really love to work there someday since i was amazed at how efficient everything is especially the public transportation (public transportation and traffic in this part of the world is really really terrible i tell ya. A 30 min ride from point a to point b in Tokyo will take most likely 2-4 hours here)! but i guess it'll be really hard for a gaijin like me to live there 😅

There are so many beautiful photo spots in Kyoto, for sure you will love there!😊 Curry and Ramen, both of them are my favorite😆 Coco Ichibanya, Mouyan curry many good curry restaurants, speaking of Ramen, needless to say, so many wonderful restaurants in Tokyo😋😋haha

That's right, public transportation system is awesome in Japan, and also much safer in night time as well. (most of the time, drunk people who sleep on the street won't be pickpocketed in Japan..😂) 2-4 hrs😅,,, haha... where do you live? *if you don't mind to expose* I think if you live in Tokyo, you won't have problem even you don't speak Japanese😉

Thanks for the comment Miriam^^ In November usually getting colder, but not that much. If it's Nonember 24-29, definitely you need a jacket, but still not a super heavy one🤔?

Hi Rion, do you think Dotonbori is a tourist trap and the food are over priced? Do locals eat there too? We went there last year and were shocked by the prices and the crowd. Are there places in Osaka that serve the same food you find in Dotonbori but reasonably priced?

Hello😆! Yes! That's the one😁! Usually there are so many people and long line in front of Torikizoku in Dotonbori, but this one less people compare to other places😁! I guess many people don't know there is Torikizoku in the building😉!

Rion Ishida . Noted with thanks. I am from Malaysia and I am going to Osaka , arrive on 10th Dec Tuesday . Will try this yakitori on the 3rd floor . The kanji is 鳥貴族 right ? Because I am a bit confuse , there is another yakitori restaurant at 3rd floor also right ? Is called 豊後高田どり？

haha, yup it's a really similar restaurant😂 But I think there is only Torikizoku in the building 😉(Maybe I am wrong🤔), but yes Kanji is correct😁!

The Crab Restuarant is nowhere near as good as it was 20 years ago. It is now run by Chinese with Chinese staff who have no idea on what is the best flavor for the Car. Also the staff do not speak Japanese, when we visited the restaurant my wife who is an Osaka native ordered our meals and the girl jus5 stood there with a blank look on her face. People save your money and go elsewhere.
