i have been a fan of freight trains since i was a kid. we lived next to a set of tracks owned by the long island rail road when i was in high school. BBBBBOOOOOOOORRRRRRIIIIIIIIINNNNNNNNGGGGGGG!!!!!!!! all the same cars and only once an hour after rush hour. this is freaking awesome!!!!!! good job sir!!!

Great railfan video of fast big trains, love’m. That one crossing really makes the cars jump as they transitioning onto the road area, the heavy pounding can’t be good. Thank you also for your great commentary.

With all that bouncing, how bad does it have to get before the engineer gets worried about unsafe conditions? Can the engineer feel that bounce? I've been running this through my mind wondering how bad of a bounce does it take to cause a derailment hypothetically. When I get to thinking that a train is long and always in tension. So I'm thinking the tension is what keeps all the cars on the track. But because you said the reason for the squeaking, was the couplers moving up and down, that still gives it room to move up and down . It doesn't take much to jettison an automobile over a speed bump to get it airborne. Another words there's nothing pulling the front end down to the ground other than gravity. A train car has the car in front of it pulling it back onto the track, trying to straighten out a bend in the rope.

Just, wow 5 trains in that short of time is just plain nuts, u have the best luck ever. That rail pumping is getting pretty bad, I see what u mean about just shoring that up with ballast, if not it’ll just get worse, those heavy cars were really bouncing.
