Had no idea that asking for a clutch cam video would turn into a series of lessons from ya. Huge thanks, Rich. This is exactly what I hoped to see. Gotta be one of the best instructional videos made. Grateful.

@@IRCTireUSAMoto yes very helpful. I noticed u change as it is convenient as well. Like when u r gettin it u use the middle finger but when just tooling around you’ll use the whole hand. Makes sense that for a trail rider we would switch to the “finger” on gnarly stuff but ride normal when it’s “normal”.

Being able to do it is hard enough itself but being able to explain it in an instructional way is on a whole other level, thanks Rich for your outstanding work.

"I'm really wringing its neck to get up and over it." That's good to hear. It's a little scary to wring these bikes' necks as a beginner, so it's good to hear when it's necessary.

As an old dog trying tk learn new tricks, getting to visually see how you are feathering the clutch is so eye opening. Pardon the pun, but want to thank you for the vids. Got my cones coming in and deff going to work these vids. Thanks.

Good video, Rich Would love to see a video of you trying to break the 5 miles of hell speed record. I think it’s around 39 min (Ryan Wells?) but I’m not sure. Not the hardest trail but still would be cool to see
@yoshyoka2 жыл бұрын
Now in Europe trials riding we stopped teaching the double blip that way. The new technique is to use only one movement of the clutch: slipping the clutch at first while you lift the front wheel to impact the obstacle, full release as soon as it hits. This gives a smoother and more controlled movement, without the power suddenly stopping just before the "zap" part of the the motion. You might give it a try!
@IRCTireUSAMoto2 жыл бұрын
Very interesting! I’ve experimented with that when I’m more tired. Cutting a full clutch pull out is a great energy saver. When I’m teaching a beginner the double blip I actually teach it that way as well. Only focusing on the first blip and slip of the clutch and throttle. Making sure they place the front tire the same every time. Multiple ways to do it I suppose!
@yoshyoka2 жыл бұрын

That clutch action for that double blip is **quick**. I can see how that would take a lot of practice. I'm curious if you made any mods on your clutch lever to lighten the pull.

For the double blip on the larger rock obstacles where you are holding a wheelie on top of the rock are you covering the rear brake at all just in case the bike goes past the balance point? Or are you just staying on the balls of your feet the entire time? Thanks
@IRCTireUSAMoto2 жыл бұрын
Yes I’m on the balls of my feet. But if I was to go to high I can quickly jab the rear. Takes lots of practice. 👍

Rich, can we say that the front wheel hurts the rock in the down moving ? I mean, lift the front wheel, take the clutch, lwing down the power that makes moving it down to hurt the 3/4 heigh of the rock and then the second impulse comes with the body movement and jump to the front ? ( i’m not sure to be well understood with this explanation) 🧐 Thanks mate.
