I like the Andy in this one (I think this is Andy Variant 7.9b) who dresses well and tries to be the best person he can be. In a way, this ties in to his "go-getter" personality who treats others politely and mirrors personalities in order to get ahead, and it reflects his upper class etiquette lesson background. It's also tied in with his tightly wound personality ever since he went to anger management.

I'm from NJ. If you live in NY or NJ, bagels are really great (I think it's something about the water). Sure, thinks like butter or cream cheese are a huge help in making a bagel great, but cheeses and meats are what make sandwiches great, not just the bread. And I prefer my bagels with some butter and a slice of cheese, not that unusual.

Having started watching this series I haven't yet agreed with many of your takes, but I'm with you here. Bagels are just the worst.

Like you, Mulverine, I forgot that the slap doesn't happen at the end of The Lover. It would really work better as one longer episode, with Pam working to accept that this is happening, only for Michael to suddenly realize it's not what he wants and back out, leading to The Slap. But I'm sure the writers didn't want to do another two-parter so soon after Niagara, and it's a bit too much to cram into one episode. The dinner date is the most uncomfortably cringe moment the show has had in a while. It's weird how often you talk about Michael maturing towards the end, but this is only a year away from his leaving and he can't keep himself together enough to just go home, and in a few days talk with her about how he cares so much for her but they probably aren't right for each other.
