Welcome to my latest floatplane video featuring a breathtaking display of two De-Havilland Otter floatplanes taking off back to back from Vancouver Harbour.
Watch as the planes gracefully pull away from the dock, taxi to their position in the water, and then ascend into the sky, showcasing the stunning snow-capped North Shore mountains in the background.
As the planes take off, the sight is nothing short of spectacular. Join us for an unforgettable aerial experience, as we capture the beauty of Vancouver Harbour from a whole new perspective. Don't miss out on this stunning display of aviation prowess and natural beauty.

Vancouver Harbour is one of the great plane spotting venues of the world. When I'm in Vancouver my brother and I take folding chairs and chart the arrivals/departures - never a dull moment. Plus, if you're lucky, you'll get to hear a Beaver still using the rotary engine. - next to a Merlin, the best sounding engine ever built.

Another treat showcasing the beautiful place British Columbia is. The Canadian tourist industry must owe you a small fortune in royalties for your service to their industry.

@@leftcoastcorrie I am 76 now and failed my medical so I can't fly alone any more but I like watching planes. I fly Radio control as well and don't need a medical for that :):):)

I used Harbour Air to get to the Vancouver Island. Part of the aviation romance is lost with turboprops, and they are planning to lose the rest of it by converting their planes to electric... Excellent service, though, and they still seem to have a Real Beaver with a radial engine. It is not just to get from A to B, it is the planes. A Flying Ladyshave is not the same as a real plane. And, with battery technology currently available, they must consider a battery pack that can be jettisoned when it turns into a fireworks display... Going woke or overly Green has it's own risks, Bud Light anyone?

NOT a double otter sir, it is a TWIN otter! no aviation person has ever heard of a double otter!

Chuck, you are absolutely correct it is a twin otter and I'm not a sir. I appreciate you've left a comment, thank you. This video is about two (double) single otters taking off from Victoria Harbour.

It is not a twin otter, it’s two otters taking off, hence the term double otter takeoff.
