Very clear and helpful, thanks! I really like how the variegated yarn makes it clear which part of the tail you're working with.

I like the look of this cast-on, and not so complicated for this long-term beginner. Thank you!

Interesting Cast On method. I am going to enjoy giving this a go.

Thank you. I can make the stitches but, I keep losing my place. I was wondering if there's any way to tell from the preceding stitch whether the tail should be 'reversed' or 'normal'? Please.

They group together in twos, so if you have a group of two stitches at the end of your cast on's, then you're on the first stitch she showed. If you have only one stitch at the end of your cast on's, then you are on the second. Hopefully you can understand what I mean, haha.

I like this cast on, but how do you count that first single slip knot stitch? I need 40 for my mitten cast on, so I added another single one at the other end? I didn't see anything on what to do to have an even number of stitches on needle?? On the first mitten, I added the reg. cast on st., but on my second mitten I thought maybe I should add the switch cast on. Can you clarify about that first single slip knot.

I always count the first stitch as "1"when counting. If you need to, you may knit two together when you join in the round and decrease that slip knot away.
