It is still funny as I live in Denmark, but havent seen them at all XD The only one is like the Bring AI we saw that stopped for some unknow reason. I have never seen them as Squirrel was driving

They're legal in Sweden, Holland, Denmark, Belgium and on selected routes in Germany which is the only country to limit trucks to drive from Holland to Sweden with doubles in one haul

The solution to a good multiplayer is admins who don't take months into processing your reports and longer bans. Someone who purposely rams everyone isn't going to play serious after all.

I'm sure they receive a *ton* of false reports too so they can't just act on a report they must also investigate it. Also consider that they are all volunteers so the cover and motivation will be hit and miss..

It's true, but when sending a report(on the website, not in-game) they ask for actual prove, like a video. I don't think anyone would put enough resources into properly faking it. Also, they got a lot of merit for doing it for free, can't deny that, although surely there are many veteran truckers who would love to help making the mp great again lol, but I see applications are closed, yet they complain about not enough staff. If the reporting proccess would speed up trolls will see it's not worth it, and eventually reducing them and thus reports. In fact, if people see it actually works they'll report more and legit rather than quitting the game. An AI won't ever get as good as an actual person, so having a good, big, working multiplayer is crucial, just like VATSIM or IVAO on the fs side. I can just think of faster reporting system or more selective joining process to fix these huge problems. Anyways, thanks for taking your time into reading comments, greetings from Spain!

the solution is copying the real life solution. those are two things i guess. one is the fact that you get fired in real life when you mess around or make damage. second is COPS on the street. i know it would be a bunch of work but if they had great AI cops not like in gta where you can mess with them but some which really make you stop, that would open the door to a whole new level of online experience. and to make sure that the fired truckers dont just start a new game to mess around again, they would have to add one more very big thing and that is if you start new your character has that less respect at trucking companies that you have to start up as a scooter driving pizza deliverant for quiet some time to make sure you reeeaally want to become an honest trucker! ... all that is just a small part of a big idea that i have for a game where trucking will be only a small part of, hope i can bring that idea to some big guys one day so we all can meet up in a perfect game :)

A little thing that needs fixing too is the realistic automatic gearbox When driving uphill the game doesn’t shift down on time and thus creating it to drop massive speed

In my opinion an official multiplayer should work kind of like real-life in germany, where you get some points for speeding, running a red light, wrong way driving and other things. and you aren't allowed to drive when you have like 6 points.

Gigaliners (What we call them) are legal in Germany but you need a permit for it. and they are pretty rare.

In Hamburg z.B. war eine Firma jahrelang durchgehend mit nem gigaliner unterwegs aber den sieht man in letzter zeit nur noch sehr selten. habe aber irgendwann mal wieder einen gesehen. ist garnicht so lange her. Little Translation, a company in Hamburg ran gigaliners for a long time but you see them rarely now. ive seen one not long ago. Link is to pictures i took. they work well in the container terminals basicly one extra 20' each trip

With regards to the multiplayer trolling/griefing issues, the solution is simple. Give the players the ability to run their own dedicated servers and let them police their own servers as they see fit. It's worked for Minecraft, it's worked for (older) Battlefield, it's worked for many, many others.

I was thinking that, but the depends on how virtual companies is going to go - if (like in GTA?) you bought a company and people worked for you, that wouldn't work too well on your own private server - you wouldn't want to host a game 24x7 ?

I feel for you, Squirrel. I remember all those crashes people had in Multiplayer environment and then you've got people blocking both sides of the road. I also remember some guy just trying to pull up and I was going 90 kph and I crashed into him. The damn thing is pure chaos.

The flying trailer is from vanilla bug, not mod related this time. Gonna be solved soon, the funny thing is if you hit the trailer with your truck it will fall from it's flying position

SiSL has already made a mod which enables doubles to be available everywhere, it was out on the workshop within like two or three days after the beta went live

About the job market: You can set a slider for favorite job length. Try to target ~400km. Europe is not very big. If you target 700km, you will run out of space easily even in the middle of the map. I usually don't have an issue finding jobs in all directions. And the small jobs are there for those maniacs like me, who likes to explore the map 100%. That helps a lot. Without those small jobs, it would take an eternity to color all the roads yellow from grey. Tbh I don't have an issue with the jobs generated. Especially in the External Contracts. That works perfectly for me.

Me and my uncle was on a trucking road trip yesterday. We left at 5pm and got home at 5am because of some stupid tunnel work and we missed the last convoy and had to wait for two hours. And the truck was leaking coolant. So we broke down in the longest tunnel in Norway?! And the passenger seat suspension was broken. So yeah. Trucking is fun.

I have to object with "ETS2 MP is full of idiots." I agree that there are quite a few idiots. But recently the roads got more organized. TruckersMP did an update to the report system. It doesn't quite catch all the notorious cheaters (noclip, speedhack, ...), still the driving experience especially in these notorious places has improved. The Duisburg to Calais time went by about 1/2. I still haven't managed to make it without damage, but that is because of lag(spikes) where suddenly a truck in front of you freezes in place and it is impossible to avoid or brake in time.

Achim Hanischdörfer true, I tried Ets2mp lately and it sure have improved a lot... There are still a lot of people on the Calais-Duisburg road, but the number of kids with cars and their 750hp Volvo flying past and overtaking at 150-200kmph on that road has massively reduced. Most of the drivers now follow the rules and I actually managed to deliver a 24t excavator without any damage through that road for the first time..

A possible solution to the multiplayer problem would be to have the option like what was done on chat servers. Having the ability to have a private room for invited friends. This locks out those that do not want to play by the rules while still opening up the game to those who wish to play together in a more realistic fashion. Just a thought.

24:00 I wish Multiplayer would be like in Farming Simulator 17 :) You have to buy a server, you can upload the maps and mods you want, an working AI on the Server and you can drive Convoys with the guys from your virtual company, but I heard SCS will bring up a new game I don't think there will be a Multiplayer Client coming for ETS2 anymore

One thing I'd like to see in an upcoming patch is seeing your own personal in-game trucking company's custom trucks driving their routes with their cargo around the game, instead of them ghosting around delivering the goods.

I think another good addition to the game will be, if you would be able to buy second hand trucks, especially when you start the game and you don't have enough money to buy a brand new truck. You could be able to buy a second hand truck to start your company and probably upgrade to new one's ones you have enough money.

My best guess for actual multiplayer in ets2 is support for an instanced based Convoy mode, which is the most fun, inclusive and social part about ets2mp imo.

They should have private servers and let the admins judge. Tell people to have something like Shawdowplay (which can be activated 30 seconds retroactively) running in the background and report any crashes to the admins. If a player purposefully crashed, ban. If it was an accident, maybe do a settlement or hand out a warning or something. That way you'll have logs (say a person is involved with a lot of "accidents") and it should be pretty light work. Small server owners can handle this on their own (since they won't have too many players), bigger owners (who may run the server as part of a business or initiative) can have more people doing it, if required. My two cents; what do you think?

The whole MP experience got a lot better than it was at the release... I encounter less and less so-called "idiots", but they're still there, like in every MP game in existence. I'd say they're the equivalent to FPS games, only harder to detect as there's no anti-cheat system in place :)

I love the double trailers in this game. I also have the mod that will add the double in the AI traffic and I have the mod that lets me pickup doubles all over Europe. I have only run into one problem with the doubles, and that was on the new MHAPro map. Keep up the good work Paul .

We do have doubles in the uk a company that was next door to where i used to work used double 40ft trailers for hauling wood chips so i dont understand why they are limited to scandanavia :S

Squirrel, I think with the jobs they need to implement buy able trailers. Then you can pick your own loads, or shape your trucking company to suit yourself either it be tankers, flat beds etc... I'd also love to be able to see your other fleet vehicles while on the road... And you should be able to track them via GPS on the map view....

Regarding the weight, it was suggested on the doubles & triples video that the same was only giving weights per trailer. Maybe scale a truck to confirm or deny.

They could solve the online trolling issue with insurance. You're correct that it would be really difficult to determine who was at fault for any particular accident, but they can record every accident on each account and track trends over time. Getting into the occasional accident with other players won't raise your rates, but if you're doing it constantly, your rates will skyrocket and you will soon be bankrupt. That would, of course, necessitate strict policing of the general economy to prevent mods that pay excessive amounts for jobs... and I personally would like to see a more in-depth insurance system that is actually a part of the economic side of the game, rather than just something that limits the cost of repairs.

nice vid. driving in scandinavia is always fun imho. the problems you mentioned with regard to multiplayer are why i only play singleplayer. maybe SCS could make it so that players who cause more than a certain number of traffic violations per hour automatically get kicked out of the game for a time, and those who cause traffic violations constantly over a longer period of time eventually get banned from the game for a few weeks/months.

At 20:42 you put your double trailer next to another double trailer and enter an roundabout at the same time. Irl you would be hanged for it :P I know its a game and a simulator, but i guess there are many future drivers here either in cars or trucks, but never ever get on the side of a truck in a roundabout.. stay behind if you are not infront cause it may take bigger space then you would expect ;) Just a general advice ;) ( Yes im old, and yes ive been driving trucks for real life for many years ;) And i love the game :) Love your videos though :)

Multiplayer isn’t a bad idea but I think every new driver should go through a training mode that can be judged by administrators and if they pass, they’re scopes for a certain amount of time to see how they behave. At least that way it allows those who take the game serious, to continue. Nice rig by the way lol

believe me the room you got their for the double tailar is the normal you find in some places in really life to pick up a tailer I mean some times I have had to come back on angle and hope that pick up the the firth wheel, most time lucky as sort one got the pack flaps under you can do full lock and get as straight as you can for the kingpin to cluch arcoss. fun of really life trucking

See the truck at 33:20 to the left with the big tires, i would like to see something like that introduced and possibly a more in depth career mode where you start of buying a class 2 HGV and work up to the articulates, Class 2 you can only deliver pallets and things like the tires on the bed of that.

17:00 on the subject of jobs. They need to add Chained jobs. Which will be routed before you take the first one so you end up taking 3 jobs in between UK and Russia or Italy or something.

the funny thing about dobles in ets 2 is that the combination in game almost never is seen on a scandinavian truck , that combination always is from latvia or other baltic countries, in sweden it is very common with link and not the one in the game :)

Yeah the AI Traffic has problems, on my video i started to drive in Romania and there was a bus on the next line and that bus randomly turned into me😂

For them to fix MP they should make an option when someone crashes into you, you are prompted to answer a question like: " was this an accident?" if they are trolling you, you can answer no and they will be fined or banned from the server.

I would love for them to implement an insurance system where the at fault driver get hit with the repair bill and if their cash goes into the minus for too long they go bankrupt or have to many accidents they are forced off permanently. Now of course that would hinge on SCS's ability to code it to actually recognize fault in accidents properly.

Multiplayer solution: the third time you get fined you are kicked out of the game for X amount of time. The counter resets every 30 minutes. So basically you're allowed 2 infractions (speed, red light, collision) before you're kicked out. So this way anyone who wants to play GTA will be removed from the road.

Baah. Doubles. In Romania we can haul up to four trailers. Granted, they are 75% the size of the normal ones but still, that's four articulated trailers the lenght of three. Yeah, yeah, here come the Aussie with their 8 full size trailer road trains

Maybe small, less-than-half-a-kilometer jobs are the closest thing so far to multi-drops. What SCS should do is that they should make a folder of jobs in the market that are composed of multiple jobs that have to be picked up and dropped off in an hour, or so. What do you think?

Also, what strikes me.... At some point, you are going to have multiple garages and trucks in different cities around Europe....What would be fun is that you may pass them on the road or drive in opposite direction on one of your jobs.....

That only happened in one of the earlier 18WOS games. Never existed since then (Probably programming issues, trying to calculate each individual driver.)

The "idiot" problem is easily fixable, some kind of system similar to iRacing using in-game offences mixed with (in game) personnal finances, an idiot will be poor and get lots of offences while someone serious will rapidly stock up money, own several garages and stuff. Now, if a guy has a "rating" too low compared to another truck (you for exemple) the guy just "ghost" and drive right through you (and vice versa) instead of bumping into you and ruining your game. In short : Idiots can have accidents with walls and idiots, serious player can't hit or be hit by idiots and have fun. Plus, this is the kind of system that can be hard-coded no matter the kind of hosting used by the game, either on a server or via P2P, also, World of Trucks can get that kind of information already.

22:50 I wonder if adding a more real automatic police presence, so that repeat offenders get more harsh punishment, like losing your license for a while, not just getting a fixed sum ticket, would help solve the multiplayer problem. I also would like to suggest some kind of traffic insurance, so that the one at fault is penalised and the innocent party gets the money from the repairs back, after an incident (that auto-records the data, like a demo-file of old, not video) is reviewed by a moderator. Can anyone else think of something other that would help?

I was thinking the insurance part, or at least having the offending party foot the repair bill. Another thought was you have to drive a certain amount of miles in Single player. Or have to haul a load a long distance and have little to no damage on it before you're allowed on.

After a set number of collisions, you are 'ghosted' where you cannot collide with another player. You also lose all your money.

The doubles are also allowed in The Netherlands. Strange that SCS doesn't know about this. BTW just like in real life the majority of the places are not (yet) made for longer combinations. You should be able to split the trailers up just like in real life when you go into city\village centres or when having to load\unload in tight places.

I wish they'd add rigid tricks to this game, would be so cool to start with a little pantech truck and build up to your first semi, plus would help learn the basics of truck driving. Don't think SCS will ever do it though

the thing about drop of points being to small, I have worked at different warehouses in sweden and can tell that it is a problem in real life aswell. even to the point where it aint un common for them to take lightpoles or other obsticals while backing up to the gate.

I live in Sweden for 11 years, my brother and my uncle are drivers, but I've never seen a double trailer like this in my life on roads. Most common setup is a something like a tandem but with a normal trailer behind. I don't know how to explain it better just now >_> (I might been mistaken too)

It's not just modded maps that are dropping frame rates, I play ETS 2 unmodded and since the last update I have found that any city I enter the frame rates drop.

Interesting that the smaller trailer is behind the big trailer. In South Africa the super links have the small trailer leading the big trailer.

If there is official multiplayer, they could just make a function to block an annoying player, and that turns on no-collision for only you and the blocked player.

Auctally you have to try the new road train mod which you can find in Steam Workshop, just type in Road Trains, and you find it!

I think a safety rating would be good cause even those who hack their accounts they will lose their rating and then lose access to multiplayer. You could also have a think where you have a single player account and then a multiplayer account which can only be used on multiplayer and if some one tries to change the multiplayer account specs that when they log back on to the multiplayer it reverts back to what it was when you were when you last logged on as well.

The best way to have multiplayer in a vehicle based game and not have idiots ruin it is to have people unable to hit each other. The morons will run into you and get in your way but there will be no effect from it as there's no contact. This should be applied to all games where people are in close proximity to each other except of course games such as the Call of Duty series where killing each other is the purpose.

Re: Multiplayer. You said, "Its not easy to code against idiots" (paraphrasing). Actually, its dead easy. If you have a collision, you simply 'ghost' - you cannot crash into anyone else, nor can they crash into you. Additionally, you cannot pickup fuel, cargo or use a ferry, etc (ie, you're punished) for a length of time. Depending on your collision count, this length is increased to the point the game is useless for you. Your vehicle is also 'ghosted out' so its not a distraction to others. You could then 'filter out' or turn off the 'ghosts' so you wouldn't even see them - like a 'block' on Facebook (you can post, but no-one is reading it!)
