Welcome to our Eurotrip 2024!
We’ve been “Hilton loyal” for years now, traveling all over the US. But this summer we’re in Europe! We’ll be staying in about 30 properties over 4 months so we’re doing a quick recap of each.
We stayed 5 nights.
Check-in: We arrived prior to 3pm and I absolutely understand they can’t guarantee early check-in. So we (along with many other people) sat in the lobby for a couple hours. Finally at 3pm we approached the desk to ask if our room was ready and they seemed annoyed. Sorry- how else were we supposed to know?
Room: We had a “Queen guest room w/ sofa. It spacious & clean. The fridge has mini-bar items so it’s difficult to store your own things. The amenities in the shower were empty. Our showerhead was broken upon arrival, then completely broke off.
Coffee/Tea: Kettle provided in room.
Breakfast: Average. Busy. There were servers who would take your order for an omelet, but not once in 5 days did they come to our table. We had to seek them out.
Gym: Pretty Average, basic. Small for the size of the property. There is no water-fill station and no one seemed to be restocking towels.
Laundry: no self service
Location: Great. You can take the hotel shuttle to Taksim square, or you have easy access to bus stop.
Noise: We didn’t have any issues
Staff: I’m really very confused. There were tons of people standing around, but not doing anything? The person most willing to help us was the housekeeper after I ambushed her in the hallway for new towels. (This was after I asked a staff member face-to-face to have our room serviced, and it was not). Everyone else seemed inconvenienced when we asked a question.
Parking: We did not have a car here but I believe it is paid parking on site.
If I really wanted to be petty (and I do because I was so disappointed with this stay) I’d also say the water pressure sucks and the lighting is terrible.
And last but certainly not least- I GOT LOCKED IN THE STAIRWELL. I tried to take the stairs from the gym level back to my room on the 4th floor (something I do at every Hilton property we stay in) and my key card wouldn’t open the door. I went back to the gym level, which I also couldn’t access with my card.
