Been enjoying the series since finding the channel thanks to Biffa ^^. A couple of things I'll point out: - Hedges do not count as shrubs. Only those decorations that have a yellow area of effect contribute to wellbeing. A cheeky way of filling the wellbeing needs for each decoration is to have their area of effect touching the lodges - it'll 'charge' the whole stack (if you stack the lodges) while the beavers sleep. For roofing a 1x1 on a lodge is sufficient to 'charge'. - Widen the channel for the upper water wheels so that all get exposed to full flow. Same goes for the dam below the lower water wheels, it needs to be as wide as the water wheels at the intended water level to give best flow and prevent flooding. And as mentioned by others raise the powerline next to the water wheels so that water doesn't have a channel to bypass. This will make the channel 2 tiles deep and the water wheels (3 tiles tall) will stop generating when half submerged. - Treat everything behind the floodgates as a lake. You can install barriers and floodgates to direct flow and fill areas faster or to flush out badtide - some plants die as soon as exposed to badtide (cattail and spadderdock especially) but others can tolerate short exposure such as during a flush, but once full redirect all the water through the water wheels. This means closing the floodgate below the smaller water source and blocking any flooding, such as what happens around the undemolished barrier that is near this floodgate so that this source feeds the water wheels too. Install floodgates behind the upper water wheels so that if flow needs to go through the floodgates below the smaller water source (such as when flushing badtide) that is an option. Any evaporation can be replaced by keeping the existing floodgates that are above the lower water wheels open for as long as possible. You've mentioned building an upper reservoir so looking forward to seeing that. - I'll suggest installing floodgates above the lower water wheels so that the reservoir can be filled rather than letting that water through the water wheels and off the map until the lake is full - It doesn't look like the floodgate below the mechanical pump is automated. - You can build the batteries higher (on platforms). It looks like the current capacity is ~56000hp and they're capable of ~62000hp. In a future series you could use dirt excavators to dig to the base of the map and build batteries in the hole(s), saving some dynamite. - When planting maple site them with the pine to take advantage of the tapper shack. - I'm not sure if the fountain of joy is new to update 5, so you may not know it's base footprint needs to be immersed in water (I think it's 3x3). Like the windmills there's a footprint for the base, and another for the upper structure which is larger. - Keep in mind that it takes 2 lumber mills to supply one gear factory, so you may run low on planks. - Put a cap on the badwater source that is 'up on high' (above the secondary?/tertiary? Oak plantation) which feeds the backwash problem you had a couple of episodes ago. It'll eliminate that issue. The cap allows you to open it, and even during a drought have badwater flowing - through some water wheels maybe? Edit: never mind this is a iron tooth feature 🤦‍♂️ - Not sure if the question has been answered yet, but my guess as to the source of the badwater that shows in the almost empty reservoir is brine from what the water pumps filtered out so that the water that goes into the storage tanks is potable (otherwise the beavers would have a drink while swimming I guess). - Some game mechanics advice I picked up from Skye Storm is that the water wheels cause the water level to rise for each wheel that is placed (this is the penalty for the energy generated as opposed to slowing the flow of water). He or his sources found that you'll start to get flooding after a chain of about 13 per tile level. Check this when finding causes of flooding. - The developers have implemented something similar to a mass pause tool, as you've requested, in the form of low and very low priority.

46:22 The issue is that the bridges overlap with the platforms. To solve this, you can simply remove the outer staircases on the metal platforms and build some single height wooden platforms leading to the edge, then build the bridges on those platforms.

I think you could triple (or more ) the size of the reservoir the 2 mechanical pumps are using. So it keeps your aquatic farms alive during the long droughts, but also continues to overflow over the dams and fills up the lower reservoir during the drought (where your water pumps are pumping)

2:23 a bridge 2 units long could also have been used to build the Badwater rig

With the gravity battery towers, couldn't you put the 1x bridge on top of a one high platform to make the top platform?

24:53 ‼️ YES, the quirk with the ladder is the beavers WON'T build ladders directly above where they are standing .... So as long as there is ANYTHING they can stand on beside the ladder they can then build up to 1 unit higher than they are standing ..... ( Doorways, platforms, land, etc. )

30:22 If you keep digging channels for your power shafts without putting flood barriers in, they will get flooded. You can clearly see that the channels are full of water. BTW., that also puts a dampener on your power generation - because the water can bypass your water wheels. You need to elevate those power shafts next to the wheels.

Are you sure beavers will be able to build when on the platforms? Since the latter is in between the platforms and the metal platforms you might run into the same problem as building from on top of the metal platform.

To build metal platforms... Put a 1 high platform at edge of prior metal platform, then build a 4 long bridge on it ‼️ .. now the beavers can build the next 2 columns of land AND THE METAL PLATFORMS that go on them ‼️😁😁😁
