Doug Casey is always very interesting, with great ideas and insights, however, how can a discussion about the Ukraine war take place without one mention of NATO's role in it? What is NATO doing moving so close to the Russian border when they have been warned since 2006 that it weould lead to conflict? It can only mean the west wanted a showdown, and now they're stuck with it - a war against a superior military force and no money to fund their own MIC. To see it from the Russian viewpoint, it is necessary to reverse the situation and ask yourself how tolerable it would be to have the Chinese military on the US/Mexican border.

Exactly. Why don’t more people use common sense to see this? The Biden administration forced this conflict by Kamala announcing publicly that Ukraine should join NATO and Biden Sent Boris Johnson over 2weeks after the war started to squash the peace settlement between Ukraine and Russia and Biden has forbidden Zalinski from negotiating with Putin. So what is the endgame? How will it ever end? How many innocent boys have died needlessly on both sides so that the military industrial complex could launder billions in taxpayer aide to Ukraine. Everyone in congress is getting rich off the destruction of Ukraine.

As far as Mining, you also have Foreign Jurisdictional Issues. You could get your mines "nationalized" or shut down or both. Like the Nicaro Mines in Cuba & First Quantum copper mine in Panama.

Great interview Jay. Doug is a wealth of knowledge. One thing I disagree with though, being an electrician who has recently worked at a gold mine, is that mining is not becoming more difficult. In fact it’s the complete opposite. Older mining sites are being revisited and scraped over with the new technology we have today that wasn’t able to extract as many minerals in the past, bringing hundreds of millions if not billions of extra dollars in profits. It would be nice to get a person involved in the day to day real life side of reality instead of the finance/economics guys who calculate life. Might as well talk to the people with boots on the ground.

In the old days people moved to places where the sociopaths were not in control. Now there is nowhere to run. That means flight has been removed as an option. This leaves fight. The sociopaths may have awakened the beasts within and may end up regretting their choices. That will be fun to watch.

@@susanrocksvold534 There isn't any reference to what Casey would do if Trump wins. He did say, though, that he's not so sure Trump will win. I have a friend who is a trial lawyer, he's predicted the entire Trump trajectory for years, and he's not so sure Trump will win either. A Trump deselection/loss would bring that much more chaos, at least within the US.

No he’s actually pretty bang on what has been happening there, the history on this is fairly complicated but the coupe in 2014 was orchestrated by the west and although they replaced a corrupt Russia backed Government the current one is far more so.

Face it, the Commonwealth countries have been lost. It's time to get to higher ground. Only two options left, really, relatively stable countries that have a viable governmental system with a sliver of hope to combat the tyranny. Or a relatively unstable country that has autonomous pockets. Either one has to have heavy options for self-defense. Young family, a US Free State is the most viable. FL, NH, TX (becoming less and less tho), AZ, AK, MS, AL, AR, Southern MO (a solid option other than FL). Young with no family, South Africa, Mexico, possibly a few select Central and South American countries. Good luck to you and your youngsters. They're pretty much doomed if they stay in Canada. Blatant collectivist redistribution is well underway with your government and leftist elites out of BC and Toronto.

@@sparky16261 There are no assurances, obviously. Are you familiar with The Great Taking? You might want to reconsider any investment in the form of a security. Most of my savings is in PMs, which I don't touch, only buy more. Some day, I assume I'll start selling them. BTW, if you live in the US, PMs have been legal tender since the 1800s. At least 11 states have reaffirmed that stance with more considering it. Obviously, you can drive to another state to buy something, but it's important to be able to pay your property taxes.

@@MaryGwenDungan Well Mary I do not live in the US and at 83 and done most everything in investing I will never outlive my money. I have enough bullion but never considered it as an investment just a hedge against what might be coming. With GIC at 5.25% and owing nothing and mortgages paying real well, I enjoy just sitting back and watching the insanity that is our world. What the US does or does not do is not that important to me.

I think the miners are lagging but they’ll catch up. Most of them will probably reach all time highs at some point. If Trump gets in they’ll hit their highs with ease.

Just to feel comfortable for the rest of my life I need gold to hit between $8 and $10k and silver to hit between $200 and $300 an ounce. Then I sell my metals - buy high yielding dividend stocks while they're down 60% to 80% - allow the dividends to re-invest and let the exponential growth do what it does. I'm 50 now and have 3 pensions through the Feds and the Army for which I was able to retire at 40 and build a few business and sell them. So I'm compensated enough through pensions and VA benefits to live a very comfortable simple life. I can just forget about the dividends and put that away for my families future. I don't really need anything I have a pick up, cloths and a fly fishing pole and a tent. That's really all I need.

Hypersonic missiles are highly inaccurate especially against moving targets like ships. The US never had difficulty getting missiles to hypersonic speed. It's the accuracy of hypersonic missiles they haven't solved. Neither Russia nor China has solved that problem either!

What do you mean? I think he’s spot on in much of his analysis. It’s the Biden administration marching us into wars that has no humanity. You’re either a troll or ignorant of what is really going on in the world and the fact that all war is motivated by money and power. Casey is a worldly man with a lot of knowledge. However, he has been wrong a lot. According to one of his prophecies gold would be 10,000$ an ounce by 2000. It was one of many predictions he made in his book Crisis Investing.
