Carrie has been fired and Doug is worried that she isn't being productive, so he decides to spy on her!

I used too watch this show when I was a Teenager and I was going to High school. I would watch it at 4:00pm on T.V. after school. Those were the good old days, early 2000's

I like it that this episode was very real about how much of a downer it is to do many job interviews but not get hired, and though she tried her own business, it didn't pay off and she hit rock bottom but her family was there to support her. One of my fave episodes- lol the Gatsby jokes were the best.

@@Tourist-Q. No, that happens when people get out of work, they lose their daytime routine and might get a full blown depression - which is what Carrie is on her to way here... This scene demonstrated very pointedly how you can be very productive in a work environment where you know what to do when, are in your routine and surrounded by colleagues while you completely lose your sense of direction alone at home without given tasks and a schedule (and colleagues... which is what many of us experienced over the last year).

Because it's for him this time. Jerry Stiller described his character well and said it was like he was the king and he wanted all these things given to him. He would have his daughter strip but only for his own benefit like having a place to live.

Let a guy pull that crap. Doug has a good union job with benifits. Blue collar guys don't bother trying to fix crap that aint broken. Doug was not perfect by a long shot, but he always made the best of what he had. Working men don't have or need to "find themselves" Carrie has a lot of growing up to do. And no it is not Arthurs fault. We are tried of hearing that excuse. Man i could go on forever about Carrie.

He wasn’t being insensitive. He is saying the same exact thing a parent would tell a bum child. If you are feeling depressed, then go out and do something or get some help. Finished tasks and reaching accomplishments work like endorphins and make you happy. If that doesn’t work then go see a shrink. Unfortunately people on that position. Don’t react until they have hit rock bottom. In Theo case rock bottom for Carrie would be divorced, long term unemployment, and living in a friend’s basement until homelessness kicks in.
