@@NickVetter I mean if you are on the trail, your phone is dead, you have no charger or flashlight (or it is also dead) and it is raining and you need to find that stem as quickly as possible....(and you actually had a tire inflator with you but not the other things). Yea it's not needed...but it's something you can brag to the guys about and never actually use it and look cool....or at least think you do momentarily until reality sets in.

@@NickVetter It is suprisingly handy, at least in off road bikes. I would imagine that you drop and raise pressures somewhat often in truck too if you off road it every now and then.

For what these are actually selling for, I would rather buy a 2 year old 1/2 ton. I would buy a Maverick for $30K or less, but realistically, you're not getting one for that. At least not one with the AWD and the trim you want. In a perfect world, Maverick's are worth about $20,000, no more.

The maverick will be be my next truck in a few years once I can find one for 16 grand. It should be possible in 3 years. It looks like the perfect daily driver.

I tried to get one they were almost impossible to get , they didn't even have one to test drive and they said it could be up to a year to get one, I think it's a marketing gimmick, yes a few people got them for like 22-23k. If they wanted to produce them in Mass they would have done it.

that would be a completely different vehicle since it's a unibody. Couple that with maybe 2% of the buyers would actually want that means that model would be unprofitable. Car companies are getting smart and going where the demand is.

And the Santa Cruz is a Hyundai. The reliability will be compoundingly worse than a Ford, Chevy or even a Dodge. I'll never buy a Kia, Hyundai, Genesis because I work on cars for a living and some months we do 10-20 engine swaps on models from 2010-brand new. Specifically the Hyundai brand cars. Some months the only engine work we do is on Hyundais. The failure rate of them is just absolutely crazy.

It’s cool that it fills the small truck void, but it needs some actual truck capability, of which it has zero. Overpriced and cute but that’s it so far.

@@user-tb5ns7hc5i It has the perfect amount of truck capability for 95% people. I have a Maverick XLT hybrid. It can pull a trailer, haul lumber, and drive through 7 inches of snow. Last night I picked up a 46 inch 3 point snow blower for my tractor. I would have brought my trailer but it was under 2 feet of snow. But it fit nicely in the Maverick's little bed. I can even fit my modern geo mountain bike diagonally in the bed without removing a wheel. 99.9% of people don't take thier REAL trucks REAL off roading. You don't need four-wheel drive or a locking diff to drive through snow or down a field road.

How is it on gas mileage with weight?

@@christopherrodriguez1944 gas mileage is good, with towing a Chevy Malibu and car dolly 4200lbs it used up a bit more gas but the engine wasn't taxed at all. I only had it in the city and it used up a few liters per hundred km more or a few miles per gallon less. You're not getting car mileage with it but it's pretty close. Just driving around you can get it to 10.6L/100km so about 21mpg.. loaded up in back doesn't change it very much at all, you can off set the cost by not driving it hard .

What was the engine block design they fixed and when did they fix it?

@@Kushgroove234 between the cylinders there was a slit to let coolant through because of that slit the gasket was also split they changed the design from having a split to cross drilling through leaving the gasket fully intact. The problem with the split was the width of the gasket was too small and would blow out causing coolant to enter the combustion chamber, , this was a big problem for the 3and 4 cylinder EcoBoost engines I think it was 20/20 when they changed the block design over maybe 21. People are putting on big kilometers with this engine and so far so good. The 8-speed transmission seems to be really good. Ford is still replacing long blocks of the old design. It looks like they finally got it right with the Maverick. This 2.0l is also in some Lincolns no problems as of yet. A KZfaqr named Fordboss does a better job explaining all this.

@@ricardolinterna4041 it's not so much that it's bad it's just there's a market for smaller little cargo holders. Trucks are getting too big and uncomfortable small vehicles like the Maverick are where you want to be. I still wouldn't mind if they brought back The Courier name

Might wanna brush up on Maverick Tremor news, there's capacity to build all Tremors ordered in 09/22, some have already been built and delivered before your XL has even made it out of the plant. If the XL is a good fit for you that's cool, but that also means that you probably won't be off-roading and the Trem wouldn't have fit your needs anyway...

@@ddjohnson9717 Chip issues have largely been a non-factor for the Maverick since about last July. Most of the commodity constraints have been for silly stuff like splash guards, spray-in bed liner material and the fact that the plant making the hybrid powertrains is at full capacity while still being well below overall demand.

Honestly with the way they are marked up and I hate saying this, they will sell well even if the price goes up a little.... I literally just bought one last month. It's an amazing truck. I got the 2022 XLT FX4 4k towing package. Got about 550 miles on it and I love it.

If they can get out of their own way and actually fill the orders they have.
