Doughnut History | Visiting with Huell Howser | KCET

Күн бұрынHuell visits the Salvation Army to learn about donut history, which began on the battlefields of World War I. Then it's off to Stan's Donuts in Westwood, where Stan cooks up his "peanut butter pockets" -- a high-calorie confection which has officially been renamed "The Huell."

"what makes it a Simpson's Doughnut" when you bite into it it yells " DOH!!" Stan kind of reminded me of Victor Borge in a way he seems a very happy, friendly laid-back fellow 😀

Kcet can you please put episodes of Californias gold on here please. You guys struck down a channel who had a lot of episodes available to watch on KZfaq. There are people who want to watch these and you guys aren't making it easy. Why strike down someone who is actually making an effort to keep Huels memory alive. Please I know you guys read these comments.

Some French guy is the chef at the hobo shelter. That is wonderful. Oh, and Woman in costume, those are not doughnuts.

gtrent1 They do seem quite different than the donuts we are used to today. From humble beginnings, right? And I agree: It is wonderful that the Veterans Administrative Campus in West L.A. has a French chef! The French are renowned for their cuisine.

Stan Berman passed away Feb 6., 2024 at the wise old age of 94.
