Once upon a time Billie Holiday was told not to perform this song by the u s government. How much has changed and sacrificed for this man to be able to sing this song on national television. Black people in America should be proud of themselves and not oppressed by themselves

Exactly. The politically useful agenda pushing persistent victimhood does not serve them well.

Dear Mr. Douglas Mills, thank you for keeping the Honorable Ms. Billie Holiday's message alive. It's still valid and valuable till this day. Remember however, if DT unfortunately becomes President again, you may not legally perform this song again.

Maybe because that song couldn’t get played back in the 1950’s so they didn’t want him to win off of that ancient voice and song in this era

Now this is the essence of the singing, black culture and black history. Strange Fruit is a song that should be impossible to do so the audience can enjoy the song, but he managed to do so, yet taking nothing away from the hard topic of the song. Amazing. The level of excellence that white people can only dream of achieving. And that's why I'm making party music :D

This song is, in my opionion, the best expression of racial oppression, gender and sexual oppression ever written. If you are part of an oppressive community this song is performed and written for us.
