The truth is Zimbabweans and the world at large are hungry for these promises and whilst you almost sold it to me that there's now "good will " you lost me when you failed to concede sufficiently what was said so eloquently by Melanie (British ambassador) but acutely felt by the very people you were able to acknowledge have been let down so badly by our older generation. The stench is real Douglas and this needs to be acknowledged fully in order that we move on with confidence

Valid points raised regarding currency volatility, property rights, appropriation and nationalization, depleted infrastructure and corruption. This has no feet to go anywhere without the fundamentals of good governance

Honestly the first time I heard about Doug and the fact that he worked for the government,I didn’t want to watch the interview because of the fact he put across that “us as young people,we believe that older folks let us down” by running down the economy, But after watching the interview,I learnt that its one thing to complain and its a totally different ballgame to do the actual work.I respect him for what he has achieved and how he gave all the glory to God,because that is our duty as man.

Doug became a Zanu PF spin doctor when he responded to the Chilonga issue as well as the issues raised by the British Ambassador. I believe there are also some embellishments on his portfolio such as oil and gas investments. Trevor should have asked for more details.

Great to see Doug who i respect as a leader in our banking industry. Respectfully though, i think he was off on the Chilonga issue. The community requested from govt to issue them with offer letters prior to the eviction to ensure that the promises of the irrigation scheme would be sincere. This is not happening. All this works to send wrong signals. On property rights we have a long way to go. Talk of companies like Ariston who had challenges nearly losing land under BIPPA few years ago

The honest truth is ZIDA is trying to window dress or sugar coat the investment vehicle. The Zimbabwe investment vehicle requires a complete engine overhaul.

Very good interview, I really enjoyed it. I liked the bit you played on what the Ambassador said, and I also echo the same sentiments. Even for us who are Zimbabweans but live in the diaspora, you can't help but wonder how your investment is protected and also how you then convert your money back and get it where you want. I felt that question was not addressed. If an investor comes and invest, considering the laws back then, you couldn't take forex out of Zim, what assurance is there now that they will get their money without hussles? Can I invest, and be able to take back my money. It wasn't very clear. I felt property rights was quite vague and am not sure it quite addresses the issue of liquidity. How will that work?

One thing that gets me exicited at the end of each show is that everyone being interviewed has an attitude of reading books, I am lazy to read books but now I'm being forced to read books so that one day i will be great and also being interviewed on the platform but my question where do I start to read ,which exactly the book

It's always sad to lose a relatively young man with more to accomplish. I however feel that his involvement in the Chilonga situation leaves a stain on some of his outstanding achievements. It's noteworthy that Munatsi didn't use this golden platform to debunk what he purported to be false information about the Chilonga circus. Thus, some of us still have a lot of questions about what was the whole issue about the Chilonga debacle. That being said, one hopes that his family is coping well with this tragic.

Shouldn’t that be a lesson that foreign investors will just use one to get what they want and especially in Africa?They lured you and made you believe there is great coming from these investors,but actually they wanted to make as much money as they can,then leave...typical style by the former colonisers and we should have learnt by now.

MHRIP, I've only just watched this after hearing of his death, yes, he rather prevaricated with his answers to the British High Commissioner's allegations. Zanu PF's egregious tentacles seem to be overarching in ways that are antithetical to ZIDA's ethos. I believe he might have tried to correct this and paid with his life. Very very sad.

I was enjoying this conversation until he was asked about the British ambassador’s comments,especially on corruption...they start to mumble whenever these government employees are needed to be honest.Let’s accept there’s corruption within the government and mainly ZANU PF...then we can move on.

The examples that Mr Munatsi is giving are anecdotal, I mean this is still dodging the reality, you talk of external investors who at times are not honest as they repatriate the money back and evade taxes etc how then would you expect them to say there are no opportunities of course there is because they benefit more

Zimbabwe lacks political will and appropriate selfless leadership to get to where Mauritius and Rwanda. All these agencies (Registrar of Companies, ZERA EMA etc) are in a mess.
