When Granada fell to the forces of both Aragon and Castile in 1492, the Renaissance was already starting in Italy and spreading slowly but surely into the rest of Europe. When the Age of Explorers and Colonization came, Western Europe was on its way. By the 18th century , The Ottomans were surpassed by the Europeans in scientific discoveries, explorations, inventions, innovations, music, architecture, warfare, etc. When the 19th century came, the Ottoman Empire was dubbed to be the sick man of Europe.
