Matt heads out on a mid-September afternoon dove hunt with his Benelli Ethos 28 gauge. He set up in the shade a tree by a millet field and it wasn't long before doves were pouring into his spinner decoy. Matt ended up filling his dove limit in short order. It's been a great year for dove hunting!

Nice Hunt Man! we went yesterday afternoon and I shot 9 in like 45 min. shooting light put it to a end for us though. We have a cold front here right now in Colorado it's 60 degrees and cloudy and windy so ducks and maybe some geese moved in and some doves moved out.

Up here in Wisconsin I see doves on my feeders all winter .Good hunt nice to see you using the 28 GA for them were you shooting lead or steel Federal shells .

I wish dove season in Missouri was better this year it’s only 22 days in and season is pretty much over last year our conservation department planted good food sources milo and millet for days and we were hunting doves to the last day this year they put deer fields in what is typically dove fields and it totally ruined the season

Love all your videos. I just ordered me a 28ga TriStar G2 Pro . What dove loads have you found work best? Would love your input on this. I'm excited to get the gun and trying to get some ammo on the way

Ok, maybe I’m crazy but on the very last dove, it looks like a new dove appears out of nowhere and gets shot while the one you hit on the first shot continues to fly away. Anyone else see that?? 9:35

It's the same dove. It was hit the first shot but kept flying until the third one.

Ive been scouring the earth for a sbe3 28 and there are none i can find. How does the ethos comparw to the sbe3 in terms of handling and sighting? Does it shoot point of aim like the sbe3 does or do you have a different sight picture? Tryimg to decide if i spend 500more on an ethos cordoba best, or buy a cheap gun like an 870 to get me through until tge sbe3 is back in stock, then i have a loaner/beater gun...🤔

From rough patterning, the SBE3 with a B shim for me goes 60/40. My Ethos seems to be more 50/50. The SBE3 rib is taller than the Ethos. I prefer the Ethos low rib more but haven't had issues with shooting the SBE3. I like the coating of the SBE3 but if you get the Cordoba, it's also coated.

@@HighPrairieSportsmen after some rounds being put through your ethos have you encountered many or any issues cycling, failure to feed, or failure to eject? Im also looking at running BOSS shells for duck this year so if you have any recommendations on 2 3/4, or 3" and shot size im all ears man.

No issues at all with Boss. I had a few steel Super X dove loads fail to cycle but that was because they were too light (5/8 oz). I use 2 3/4" 5s for ducks, 7s for teal. Trying out some 3" this year.
