Over the last couple of years there has been a trending line of packable blanket products that have taken the camping / backpacking world by storm.
These products tend to be light in terms of weight, feature small form factors, some have down insulation, some synthetic insulation, they have low prices and are perfect for warm weather nights while out camping.
Over the years I have personally tested a handful of these products - you can find the reviews in the sleeping bag playlist on my channel.
Recently I had a viewer ask for my thoughts on this product and I had to admit, I wasn’t aware that OneTigris offered one of these Packable blankets.
Because of that viewer, Kai thank you for the product suggestion - I went ahead and ordered the blanket and here we are today.

Materials :
Outer Fabric : 20D Rip-Stop Nylon
- Lining : 300T Polyester
- Insulation : 600 Power Duck Down Fill
Treatment : DWR
Stated Measurements Stored : 12” x 6.5”
Stated Measurement Unfolded : 79” x 55”
Stated Weight : 1.5lbs \
Temp Rating :
This is going to be subjective - I will be performing my testing shortly and will follow up as soon as I can in the review but based upon my experiences with similar products, a realistic estimate is comfort down to 50F - 60F. These are warm weather blankets and this is the range which is typical for this category of product.
Colors : Ranger Green, Olive Green which you see here and Coyote Brown
Cost : Retail is $70 - I bought the Olive Green version that you see here for $60 on Amazon
Versions :
There is a 1 person which I have and there is a two person version
Uses :
Blanket, quilt, in a hammock or under one as an underquilt. The blanket can also be worn as a poncho or a cloak.
Updated :
This is the updated version of this blanket - supposedly the company made the product softer and more comfortable against the skin. I didn’t test the original version….as I said, I wasn’t aware that the company even offered this style of blanket.

Thank you so much for reviewing the cheaper gear options out there! Some of us can't afford the $400 quilts that the other KZfaqrs are always on about, so it's really great to know some opinions on the affordable stuff before we spend the little we can on it!

Excellent overview brother 👍 These lightweight down blankets are absolutely awesome. I have one from a different company that I took out this past weekend on a cold and wet backpacking trip. Glad I did. The temps were quite colder than anticipated, so I just draped this over my down bag and slept warm and cozy 👍 Thanks as always for your honest and unbiased reviews by the way... they're much appreciated.

Can't speak to the value when camping, but I bought one of these last winter to help stay warm while trying to keep the heating bill low. It was amazing! If you have elderly family members, one of these would make a wonderful a Christmas present, because we do feel the cold more.

I started using quilts a few years ago. I don't use sleeping bags any longer. Use a Pendleton blanket under the quilt and you can get pretty cold out. Of course a quality pad is a must.

If you sew, or know someone who does, you can add snaps or buttons to the blanket & to your sleeping bag in coordinating spots, or add loops as tie downs. Even though it doesn't come with them (& I'm shocked that such a well know company did not think of this) you can add items to customize it to work for your needs.

Thanks Luke. Over my years @65, I have had many and still have down filled sleeping bags. Several problems I have encountered are the down over time shifts and bunches with larger pockets leaving dead zones". Anything under your body offers almost zero warmth as the down compresses not allowing any air pockets. But as a quilt I would be willing to give this a try. I still have an Eddie Bauer down filled bag that I use as a quilt although the down has lost a lot of it's loft. Thanks again, stay safe and God bless.

I have the previous version and love it. I use it to supplement whatever sleeping system I'm using. Kinda like a backup if I get cold. I also use it by itself in warmer temps. I have slept very comfortably to 52° sleeping in shorts and tshirt no socks. It fits perfectly in my Kamp-Rite Oversized tent cot. I also love the snaps on a chilly morning I can wrap it around me while drinking my coffee. Great product

Good review. I love my down blankets though I use a different make. I team my Lowland Outdoor down blanket up with an Urpro waterproof fleece and for extra cold nights add a Snugpak jungle blanket. I loathe the cold so I always wrap extra cosy and the different layer levels allow me to adjust as required. Being lightweight and compact means I can take little extras. I've also changed from a foam mat to a Kingcamp camping mat cotton mattress. It does take up space in the rucksack but it is my wee luxury. There are so many options nowadays for camping and for hikers/backpackers to be comfortable that you can change things up and enjoy the great outdoors in all kinds of weather. No need for hard ground and uncomfortable nights when you can sleep well and cosy. Thanks again for this review. I have been tempted with the One Tigris but may hold out to see if they make any adjustments to it. My down blankets can be used as both blanket and sleeping bag which is ideal. Would be good if One Tigris made these simple adjustments. Looking forward to the field test.

I've had the version 1 for about 2 years. But I have really liked it for summer camping. Anything above 8-10°C and it works great with maybe a fleece and thermal pants when it drops a little cooler, but may June -august it's good. I've considered adding some snaps or fabric tabs to make quilt straps and potentially a foot box but the one time i used it over top of my 3 season bag it worked well, and could be better with straps

It’s as good to know what the blanket won’t do, as it is to know its capabilities. So thank you for this review. Also, I’m kind of wondering if the reinforced corners are meant to help protect the fabric when making attachment point modifications; i.e. if creating a hammock under quilt with cordage or bungees (?). Just a thought.

Based on your review, I purchased the Nemo Equipment Puffin blanket and I have not been disappointed. It has buttons on the bottom to create a foot box, but I have used that feature only a couple of times. It is a blanket and I use it as a blanket. It has a polyester filling that probably isn’t as warm as the down filling you are reviewing today. It think it is important to not sett expectations too high and believe you can get a blanket to be a top quilt suitable for mountain nights. I will be surprised if your product test will be satisfactory for sleeping in colder conditions. It looks like a nice product and would be great sitting around the tailgate eating s’mores, or sitting in the stadium watching a night football game.

I bought this a couple of months ago and it's worked really well when on the beach as a poncho. I'll be using it as an additional layer to my Nemo sleeping bag for Scottish winter camping for a few extra degrees of comfort. I've not noticed any loose threads or down loss - early days but for the price, think it's v decent.

Whether as a recliner woobie in the basement or as just a blanket instead of a sleeping bag in your hammock or tent they are great in moderate temps. Don't miss being able to zip it all the way up at all. ❤

I have the version 1 quilt and it’s very warm and comfortable. I use it year round and just layer up with other quilts or blankets when it gets colder. I do wish it had snaps to close around the feet. I rigged something with gorilla tape and bank line to sort of tie it shut at the end. Works OK but having dedicated snaps for a foot box would be a big plus.

I use this quilt several times each week to provide comfort and shelter on my cot. Right you are, there is no way to snap this quilt into a sleeping bag. I use big horse blanket pins to do the job. I use bungee tie cords to make a foot box. It is also true that there is not enough quilt to wrap over the shoulders. I will be buying a second one of these for colder weather...OR looking for a two-person model. I have found this to be a very comfortable product that has no condensation problems (in dry Albuquerque, NM.)

I bought a single 600 down filled blanket from 4Monster to keep me warm while camping. Yes, I know it’s a blanket for a dog; however, I’m 4’11” and found that this blanket is the perfect size for me. I found that if I put it inside my Coleman polyester sleeping bag, not only did I stay toasty warm on a 47 degree night, the blanket stayed put and didn’t slide off me during the night like it did when I stayed in a wilderness lodge on the French River in late August. This blanket you reviewed from OneTigris sounds a lot like the one I got from 4Monster, so I think I’ll stick with it for now. I bought the double-size for my son and daughter-in-law for camping and they absolutely love it.

Used one for 6 months or so now, can’t fault it for what I paid for it ca. £55. One weekend I got caught out with a fleece bag liner being insufficient for lower than forecast temps. I threw the blanket over top of my carinthia fleece liner and had a toasty but well ventilated sleep. Very pleasant combo down at about 8C

For a long time I used an ex services down bag, often too hot then I migrated to cheap zip open, synthetic fill bags, really useful, open as a quilt in summer, done up spring and autumn, getting colder ? stick another one inside it,colder still, ? put them in a tube blanket. This I hasten to add, was sailing kit,car camping kit, not heavy but bulky.

Bought one of these recently for (family) camping since I hate sleeping bags, worked really well down to about 9 degrees (according to weather forcast) but needed an extra blanket later in the night, sounds about right for the rating. No faults in my sample with manufacturing and seems robust enough for the price. I'm a convert to down so will be looking at other kit.

Companies tend to measure the outer components for their sizes BEFORE sewing and filling them and not using the size of the end product. That goes for clothing as well. I'm not saying every company uses this practice but there quite a few that do. In the past the difference could be brought down to which plant an item was made in if they had multiple facilities. I guess that could go to the country of origin now. It's a deceitful practice but it's not illegal. Kinda like a burger joint advertising a 1/4 pound burger with that being the precooked weight. Crappractice I know.

The only manufacturer I've seen that makes a fully snapable blanket is USGIs Camp Blanket which is designed to be snapped into their ponchos. But, interestingly, they don't do this with their woobie product. They only stick with the tie-ins.

Wish I could use down, but I am severely allergic. Synthetic works, but not as light.

Looking at the data presented by Luke and on the web, this product looks like a cheaper but much less usefull Helikon-Tex Swagman Roll. My Swagman has been beat to crap and still performs wounderfully, I'm wondering how this blanket will hold up with heavy use.

Hi Luke!: Looks like an interesting product. I would be interested to know if there are any effects for folks with allergies that might be set off by the down. Suffered badly as a child trying to use feather pillows! (of course those were probably breeding grounds for dust mites!) Thank's for the heads up!

OneTigris have a non-down quilt. OneWind also have a similar product; the one I have can also be used as a poncho, and Luke gave it a good review a wee while back.

Anybody else notice how little loft that blanket has? And it is brand new. I can see the loft going away after only a few uses. Especially if that thing gets damp then throw it in the garbage. It doesn't seem at all rugged enough for outdoor use. Also doesn't it seem to pack rather large for being down? A synthetic quilt or woobie would be a much better idea.
