IT'S ALREADY WEANING DAY!!! and I'm still recovering from lambing them back in December!
A little loud. Consider yourself warned.😂
Finally seeing some improvement with our downed ewe! I have to admit, I almost gave up on her... but she never did!!
Also selected some replacement ewe lambs, and shipped the remaining market lambs to the sales barn.

@@michellesmith7060 Subconsciously, having Red among the Winter lambs might have entered into the decision to keep a small group of Fall lambs, as an experiment in logistics, to work out the details of keeping some from other groups in near future. It's probably good insurance to pull from more than one breeding cycle a year anyway, to help avoid any trait or illness tendency that you're stuck with for a while because all ewe lambs were from the same lambing cycle where something was slightly off or a bug was subtly present.

You're not pathetic at all. Everyone has their own hurdles. Mine are nowhere nearly as high as hers (cleaning out a barn the size of a football field), but you do what you can, when you can. I agree though that watching her clean is a unique kind of ASMR, perhaps because it's invigorating to see thing go from dirty to clean and scattered to in line. Personally, I love when they use the plastic scrapers to clean the edges of hay and dirt or push out water. That sound is a siren song.

Right?! I can only imagine the horror of being an animal and unable to communicate or describe pain. It's the first thing I think when I see an animal acting "unusually". Are they in pain and how can I help? I watched a documentary on how it wasn't until the early 1980s (yes, just over 30 years ago), that they acknowledged that HUMAN babies could feel pain. Before, they would do numerous procedures without anesthetic on babies, supposedly under the impression that all the screaming was just for fun or something. If it took that long for them to connect pain to babies, I can only imagine the countless animals that suffer in silence because their owners are too ignorant or without concern. Sandi's awareness and kindness in ensuring their comfort is one of the myriad reasons it is a joy to watch this channel.

Aanii (hello in Ojibwe) from Eastern Ontario ❤️🇨🇦❤️ I'm so happy to see Mama Red doing better, hoping it continues! Hope this storm hasn't dumped too much snow on you. We got ice pellets and 4" of snow a few days ago. By noon today we got another 3" with loads of wind making it worse. Good old Canadian winter! Miigwetch (thank you) for what you do!

I’m so glad to see Reds Mommy feeling better!! You are so much more than a farmer! You’re a physical therapist, your a nurturer, you’re a lamb midwife, you’re their support when they need help, and you cheer them on when they are doing great and definitely not least you wed them and then you divorce them! 😉💖 Much love from Oklahoma

Mama Red looks so much better! I've read about how calcium shots can work miracles but it's so exciting to see it work. What a lucky sheep she is to have you walking her around.

I’m assuming that one of the job requirements to work for you would be a long enough inseam that allows for stepping over the sheep-pen fences. Thus saving on gates ???
