"Down By The Ocean" is a song about realizing your worth. For so long, there's been a person in your life who you've let talk down to you, do you wrong, and walk all over you. You tried to give them the benefit of the doubt, or maybe you were just too scared to stand up for yourself. "Down By The Ocean" is about drawing the line, putting your foot down. "Yes, I was a doormat in the past, but now I've changed. I'm done with that."
