This version makes way more sense with dinah and lauren changing their verse because lauren has a better lower register and dinah could show some of her vocals

Unpopular opinion but I’m so glad this group is done. Everytime Dinah and Ally chewed a bit too hard the song or that version of the song gets unreleased. They sound amazing here and the label still dropped the shit that was the final version. I’m so pissed off my whole morning just got ruined lmao.

This is a fanmade mix! After hearing the vocal takes, I totally understand some of the distributions of the group. Dinah doesn't sound as good singing the first verse as Lauren and that's it

no bc im convinced the label was anti dinah obv it was rough bc its a demo but dinah naturally brings this swaggy island flair that the others can't and some of her ad libs were absolute gold (2:26) 😭 but in the final she just had the short ass pre chorus and like two short boring ad libs, i also love that there's more ally on this and normani has a high note (2:02) i also like this song w more swag and the slight accent dinah (and kind of lauren) sing with, it makes it a lot more of a fun listen, i honestly think if they mixed this properly, cut a few of the unnecessary ad libs, and added pitch correction they could've made this version work 🤷‍♂ or at least keep the 2:39 "yeah yeah" from ally bc they never wanted ally to slay

This is how I think Down would’ve worked Step one from “I need somebody with some patience” all too “I would get up there and lie for you”. This part would have gone with Dinah, Normani or both since they have light voices and higher keys.Lauren stays with the chorus only(it would make the songs chorus sound even better only hearing her voice in those lyrics alone). Then Normani would sing again now her original part killing the high pitch in the group (fifth harmony didn’t need camila this album ppl trust). Ally sings her original “when push comes to shove” verse and Ally, Normani and Dinah would keep all their ad Libs start of this down version to its finish. Lauren jauregui would have less of her ad libs. Gucci mane no Gucci mane whoever’s preference, he pops off his part of the song with this timeless beat. Right after the rap Dinah would sing “long as you holding me down” shown on this version here and not Lauren. Then the rest of the song ends the same way this one does now including the ad libs shown.

I don’t know how you guys listen to this and genuinely believe it’s good… Like it’s terrible. Demo or not it wouldn’t even sound good as the finished product there’s just too much going on.
