Such a dirty rock tune. Some get it, some don’t. I can’t ever be true 100% friends with someone who doesn’t like The Stooges.

I used to do a Bikefest BBQ. It was a tradition to kick it off with Down in the Streets. They let me take over the music the first year because their sound equipment was trash. Had my equipment nearby, brought it in and got permission to play what I wanted. Such good memories. Got to learn this to jam on with my best friends band.

If you think about what other music was happening EXACTLY when these songs were recorded you realize he alone nailed it - a sound and feel that would resonate for generations.

nice - great tone, too. When you say 'transistor' version, do you mean the Peavey Vypyr Pro 100 - 100-watt 1x12" Modeling Combo Amp? thx!

Do you prefer Asheton or Williamson?

Asheton, but they're both great.

“Stooges”/ “Fun House” versus “Raw Power”/ “Sick of You”... To me they’re like two different bands. I love both. Asheton’s bass rumble on the “Raw Power” album is an interesting beast. Hard to pin down.

I respect Williamson as a player as I think he’s a definite monster….just a more polished and streamlined monster… Where from the first time I heard Asheton… I felt immediate connection and….actually for the first time in my life heard someone playing how I heard in my head… Ronny is the pinnacle of everything that makes a psychedelic American gut playin caveman….basically brings home the wooly mammoth down for me….
