bushpot cooking is a skills of those who spend time in the outdoors.bushcraft cooking is a skill .in this video i use a pathfinder bushpot to cook a meal from scratch.instead of using a fire i cook on a coleman single burner camp stove its a model 508. for car camping or canoe camping this stove is easy to pack and does a great job of cooking meals when a campfire is not a option.into the pot i added a cut up jalipino a small onion and a roma tomato .these were heated in the pot on the stove to add flavor.then i add a can of mixed veggies from walmart..the great value brand.i also used a can of pulled pork bbq from the great value brand as well..once everything was combined i used a package of mccormic onion gravy mix.and a package of ricearoni..all of this was brought to a boil to allow the flavors to combine..serve over a bed of rice or mashed potatoes

I amazing how many people will open a can of peas, corn, or whatnot and discard the water that comes off them, 'ewww, that's where the salt and junk is'. I don't always add it to what I am cooking, but I do like heating it up and drinking it like coffee. It's a change of pace that helps keep life from getting boring. Thumbs Up again, BTW.

You're so correct about WC knives being blood thirsty! I'm 68 years old and have used knives on a daily basis. I've had my fair share of cuts so I'm very careful. Last year I received my WCSK, (a very fine and my favorite of the more than forty knives I own! ) and had just removed it from the box and hadn't been in my hands for more than thirty seconds before I managed to cut my finger! Respect earned! It is my EDC and I dearly love that fine tool William Collins has created! Wouldn't trade it for anything and might have to take it into the afterlife just in case satan gives me any shit! Ha! Ha! Keep up your good work and great videos ATB Sam Adler

Talk about wild onions, back in a small -very small town in West Virginia we had a thing called “Ramps”, and everyone was obsessed with them. They only grew once a year and boy, I tell you they were POTENT!!! You could smell them sweating out of your pores the day after eating one. Sorry for not offering anything of value pertaining to this conversation, just wondering if you have ever heard of them. Ramps are deeply cherished in West Virginia and some towns even have a party dedicated to them

In our family, this type of meal has been called "slumgullion" since the 1930's. Like this dish, it is a "stew" containing (1) any vegetables you have, (2) potatoes, rice, or noodles, (3) a rumor of meat, and (4) a generous portion of salt. This was part of a repertoire of what we called "poor cookin'", which refers not to the taste of the meal, or the techniques of its preparation, but rather to the financial straits of the cook. Since, there always seemed to be a lot of month left at the end of the money, slumgullion stew was a very familiar meal. 😎
