Unfortunately, they didn't swap contact information, so when the conference was over, it was up to their mothers to bring them back together. The two had an emotional reunion in a video that went viral, and Kelly Clarkson recreates that magical moment with another surprise reunion for the couple.

Having a Down syndrome sibling I can shed some light. It’s not really that pure but it is innocent. Don’t get me wrong they’re are very capable of love and feelings but all the romanticism is performative. Purely imitating what they see elsewhere - especially from media depictions of romance and ‘love’. Members of my own family encourage my sibling to behave in ways that is seen as cute but in reality it’s manipulative entertainment - which is all this is.

My high school boyfriend had a sister with downs syndrome. The most caring, sensitive human I've ever met. Heartbreakingly so. I hope she still finds joy in this world.

I love my boyfriend. He has autism and Tourette’s. And he is my world times infinity. We’ve known each other for almost 12 years but have been together almost 7 months. People judge us but this video shows that anybody can love. I love this! 💕

I love these two and their moms also! My Uncle has Down syndrome and he is the best person I know! He works 2 jobs, has his own assisted living apartment, and he and his girlfriend go on Cruises together and love bird watching! I am so proud of him and I am glad he is living his best life!

my aunt had down sydrome, she never was interested in starting a family, but she loved spending time with my grandma! my aunt had too many health problems that came with her Down syndrome and sadly one of them was a weak immune system, which did lead to her passing. but she definitely taught me many valuable life lessons such as, live life to the fullest, don’t let small things tear you down, and to always live an cherish those around you

Jesus just bought an amazing man into my life. He is so kind and loving. It is just what I needed. I am 71 years young and he is 60. I asked him if he knew how old I was. Even though I am older he is OK with it. I thank the Lord for him. We Said we would just be friends at first but that is changing. My wonderful husband Bob who is with Jesus in heaven. He would be so happy for me. He wanted me find someone to love like he did. Yes we are waiting for marriage to make love. We aren't going to sin but be complete in Jesus

I love observing children with Down syndrome. They just radiate so much light and love. They’re so pure, I just love being around that kind of innocence. It’s different from that of a regular child.

My son was just born 3 months ago and he was diagnosed with Down syndrome at birth, he’s my first baby and the diagnosis was exactly how Nicks mom explained it I cried I still do at times you feel anger you feel sad & love but I never loose hope. My baby boy 👦🏻 is thriving and he is so loving already & loves to laugh, I can’t wait to see our future. These families are very inspiring for mothers who have a diagnosis like them 💙💛🙏🏼

I absolutely love these mothers. Shoutout to Nick's mom for going full detective to get Gabi's name and finding her information for her son. MVP of wingmen. I've worked with people with developmental disabilities for years, and they are honestly so inspiring. And unfortunately, some of my individuals over the years haven't had any family around to support them. This whole situation is so incredibly heartwarming, and I'm so happy for the two of them.

Most people with DS can live on their own, work, marry and have children. All they need is high expectations and no enabling. They may need Support, but can live normal lives.

As a retired Special Education teacher, I could not be any prouder of Nick, Gabby and their families who encouraged them, nurtured, loved, and had high expectations for all their children. I was blessed to have a 30 year career collaborating with some of the most wonderful parents, grandparents, and of course, my wonderfully precious students. ♥️🤗🙏🏽

I was actually in a school where there were children with disabilities and especially Down syndrome integrated to other classes and as a child I was really scared of them and thankful they weren’t in my class but one day because my teacher was sick I had to go to that class because we got divided and I actually spent time with them and I was really scared at first but as we drew and played games I just realized how beautiful they are and we’re no different at all !!! The way that little boy showed me so much love was so crazily beautiful that it’s still one of the memories I remember from my 3rd grade!! He LOVED hugs and attention and just love from other people.

My uncle Robby had downs. We’re coming up on the one year anniversary of his passing, and boy do I miss him. One of the most loving, genuinely caring men I’ve had the pleasure to know. Just a different spark of joy in their hearts 💕

My daughter is 18 and was born part down syndrome, and she wears her heart on her sleeve, they are beautiful and so loving.

ying yang How bad is the Tourette’s? It can be such a horrible illness. there was an episode on mtv yrs ago called true life I have Tourette’s. Very interesting to watch. Probably some where on you tube. Hope she is doing well. 😃.

I took care of down syndrome and autism kids. People think they wont function like the rest of us but really they are just like us. Just very special in a beautiful way

Exactly! People who have a Downs diagnosis or an Asperger's/ASD diagnosis aren't DISabled, we're just DIFFERENTLY abled. I got my Asperger's diagnosis when I was nine. I'm now 24.

That is not exactly true. Plenty of people who don’t have “healthy” brains and bodies hurt people in numerous ways. Everyone, or at least most people, have the capacity to harm another person.

I’ve worked with people with specials needs for 15 years and downs are my favorite. They are so passionate and beautiful; either they love you with all of their heart or they do NOT like you AT ALL. They deserve love just like everyone else.

For me I'd want to know so that I could get more info and look into support networks before I'm sleepless and busy taking care of a newborn. I like that modern medicine gives us the choice to know ahead of time or not. But like the mom in this segment said, they've gotta stop automatically framing it as a negative thing if they come back with a diagnosis.

I tested with my daughter that I’m currently pregnant with. It’s not because i would’ve done anything different but I wanted to be prepared prior to her birth for whatever obstacles we may face.

This is the best thing I’ve seen on Kelly. 😭😭😭😭 I’m a mother of a child with Downs & he is amazing! I can’t even explain how having a child with DS changes a person. For the last 5 years Ive seen the world through his eyes what blessing. My sons extra chromosome means that he is EXTRA - In Every way- he LOVES Extra, Plays Extra & Lives EXTRA! I've worked with people with special needsfrom us 42 years I treat them like I want to be treated because they're no different than I am we all have disabilities in some way I look at the covid-19 and how many people have disabilities called fear

Years ago a relative invited me to volunteer for a weekend with her at camp for special needs young adults. She introduced me to a young man who immediately hugged me..not the hand on a shoulder.it was a big bear hug. I was stunned. My family member said, "Oh, I forgot to tell you. There is no personal space with them." That weekend was an amazing, awakening, humbling, inspiring experience for me with people who showed me not to take myself so seriously and to be more 'free'. They love with their whole being and show it. Amazing people.

My brother is 31 and a highly functional man with Downs he has his annual gala this year here in Orlando and I’m proud to be his date along with our mom&dad 💜🙏🏼 People with Downs give the most amazing didn’t know I needed that hug type of hug💜 such an inspiration these two cuties are! One Mother said that children with DS can have trouble with learnig in school. I am normal and l had trouble in school. I think that this 2 are normal because they would not hurt a fly. They are full of love and the world is better with them 🧡🧡🧡🧡🧡🧡🧡🧡.

My little girl is 3 and I hope she finds someone that loves her this much someday. This made me sooo happy. Keeping my child with special needs despite the doctor’s recommendations is the best thing I’ve ever done. I think she leaves a little impact on everyone she meets ❤️

I just retired from 30 years of being a professional firefighter, but……before that carreer, I worked with people with developmental disabilities and for 20 + years coached Special Olympic Swimming. I totally agree with Mom’s statement about there not being any walls. Through my experiences coaching at a Provincial (I am in Canada), National and World Games levels I have seen and felt the laughter, sadness, anger and love that these Mom’s share of their children. I have never danced so much at events! I have seldom recieved such heart felt hugs. I have seldom experienced such joy. Thank you for sharing this amazing footage and opening the eyes to many regarding the similarities, not the differences!
