DOWN THE DEVILS STAIRCASE...Racing the 2023 HighlandTrail 550 Bikepacking race in Scotland

The Highlandtrail 550 is a 550mile bikepacking race around Scotland. I finished 5th in the 2023 edition of the Highland Trail 550 and recorded my experience during the race.
Down the Devils Staircase is an edit by Ryan Le Garrec which gives a brief insight inside my mind during the Highland Trail 550. I felt in control and comfortable for most of the race.. but upon reviewing the GoPro footage post race is became apparent that maybe my mind wasn't quite as lucid as I thought!
Enjoy this edit as I bike pack around Scotland with minimal sleep and minimal company to see me sane!

josh i've just finshed devils stair case yesterday mornging after 12 days on the ht550 and a quick hospital visit after i smashed my knee taking a piss your film is above good its incredible ,i rode silk road race course in july 23 watched your films on silk road u deserve an award u really r setting a high standard ( & sofiane & alex mccormack )well done mate..

Hi Josh, thanks for the video, nice edit. Does the org give you locations of bothys/ shelters etc, or is all of that from your own knowledge from your previous rides? Cheers!

The only thing that is supplied is the route .gpx file, however its fairly easy to find out where bothys are as there are plenty of guides available and also experience gained on previous editions helps know where the bothys and other unmapped shelters are

Most people liked the editing but I found it a bit irritating and awkward. I would have preferred more traditional cycling shots and Josh just talking to camera. Still liked the vid, obviously.
