How do you replace the line counter on a Cannon Mag 10. Do you have to take the wire sppols off?

Does the New spool you are showing in the video fit the MAG 20 DT/HS? If so, what is the part number? And if so, does the new spool require 2 magnets? Thanks

I found a cannon downrigger on the highway about 20 years ago and it has been in my backyard ever since in the weather. My boss is an eBay guy and I was going to get him to sell it for me. After some inspection I found that both of the switches are broken from the hiway and there is some corrosion on the outside of the electric motor. Do you think it is worth repairing or the scrap bin?

Thanks Luke helping me out. One thing tho is that your info only talks about new riggers. My Mini-Mag 5 has an actual swivel on the boom end attached to a pulley. How do you remove the metal cap in the end of the boom to replace the swivel & pulley? Also is there a way to remove the boom easily? Thx!

Is this video for the Cannon Magnum 10 STX or a different downrigger? I am attempting to order parts noted in a previous question but want to be sure because the part number noted look different than the parts in the video. TIA

Is the counter serviceable? I have two Mag 10s that are a year old, moderate use, and just had one of the counters skip for the better part of a morning and then started working fine. The spool and counter gears were aligned correctly. I had to re-zero my line with the ball touching the water several times, so I know that wasn't the issue, it was something inside the counter itself. Thx!

Is there any chance of you doing a video covering the Cannon Shortstop feature and the different switches ie 3 prong and 4 prong and where each is relevant and can be used Also the possibility of converting a broken Electric model to Manual I have a Marlin HP Electric and I see the fibre washer seems to be covered in grease from the drive shaft gear. Is this normal or has the prior owner overdone the grease application which covers the entire enclosed housing.ie Is the Fibre clutch washer meant to run dry

My cannon downrigger keeps blowing the fuse. Rigger comes up slow. (12lbs ball) What might be going on? Also I was wondering if getting grease on the clutch fiber washer will ruin it.
