Your take on the job market in Ireland is very misguiding. All of the students I know including myself who are fresh graduates have been able to land a good job in Ireland. Even given the pandemic situation Ireland's job market was/is very strong. Being hirable depends on much more than just experience and that is the case for every country (including USA and Canada). Given the the rent is high Ireland does provide a good standard of living and given that you secure a job (which is definitely very possible for all students (experienced and non-experienced)) you can justify the cost of living. Ireland is becoming very popular for the international students because of the low cost of studies and the massive opportunities it provides. And the PR situation in Canada also needs to be renewed. And Ireland has come up with the 'Housing for all' scheme as well which if executed properly would hopefully make the accommodation scene in Ireland better.

I can't help but get the feeling that the timing (the fact that you were in Ireland in the middle of the pandemic when many companies had a hiring freeze) has skewed your perception of the job market. Dublin is a huge hub for what you called "soft skill jobs" client facing jobs (sales, customer service but also consulting, finance and HR.) Ireland has emerged as one of the strongest economies in Europe even in the face of this pandemic. There are a few other assumptions you make about it being small and therefore not having opportunities. It is about opportunities proportional to the size.. places like Singapore, Hong Kong or Dubai could be considered "small" but are known as great places to build a career.

I strongly disagree with your statement about lack of opportunities.. it's one of the strongest in the tech sector..I myself had two job offers within 2 weeks of commencing job search. However 2-3 years local work experience is needed to build a strong profile. Stamp 4 which is equivalent to a PR is available within 2 years of working which is great! And Stamp 4 need not have to be renewed every year.. It's once in two years. Get your facts right!

Happy that you have such a positive impression on the Irish job market because you managed to land on one. I know atleast 10 tech students who went to Ireland in 2019 and are till looking for a job. @AliveToTellaTale
@AliveToTellaTale 3 жыл бұрын
Hey Clinton! Not sure if you are aware but most people in India are not familiar with even the name of the country Ireland in comparison to how often they hear about Canada and US through friends and family. Similarly, most people don't know where it lies on the map either coz clearly there is a sky of a difference in their sizes. That's exactly what I mean coz I know what matters to take a country in consideration, not showing off 😉

I believe this video has a very negative outlook though you have tried to keep a joyful tone. The experiences which you have encountered in Ireland are no doubt true for u but they can really demotivate someone who has planned his or her stuff properly. This negative outlook can be largely because of your bad experiences in your domain but surely not true for other domains. Though you have mentioned this , I would just like to reiterate. At the end as they say if there is a will there is a way.

Hi girl, your smile is beautiful, but you know you mentioned Ireland without thinking that you were just talking about Dublin in the video. There are cheaper places to live in Ireland like Letterkenny. The job market totally depends on person to person. To be honest, if I were you I just change the video title to why not choose Dublin to study not Ireland. About the GNIB citizenship or pr process, I think anyone needs to make plans before signing up for anything instead of mentioning the downside at a later stage.

If Indians cannot point to a country in a world map, it's only our education system to be blamed. But agree with the other points you made. For people complaining about high tax, I agree, high tax is a factor but you need to also see the benefits. When the pandemic happened and people lost their jobs, the Irish govt. started a Pandemic Unemployment Fund (PUP) for the folks who lost their jobs, and they were getting paid on a weekly basis by the government. On a Stamp 4 Visa (or if you end up being a citizen for that matter), if you lose your job for whatsoever reason, you are covered by the Jobseekers benefit (Again a weekly payment to cover you). Furthermore, even the COVID 19 vaccines were given for free. These are a few things you get when you pay tax.

Hey Soumyajit! 1) It was supposed to be a joke.😅 Also, my parents were not open to the idea of me studying in Ireland because they din know it's geographical location and it's global presence. For a student it's important that their parents equally belive in their choice of course, university and country so from that perspective, Ireland is not approved as quickly as Canada or USA. 2) Saturated mostly in the soft skills and technical skill based jobs would require considerable number of years in work experience. I've made detailed videos on these aspects, please don't forget to check them out. Thanks!

How do you expect to find a job in a foreign land in these circumstances when you can't get it in India. Also, let me tell you no employer in India gives any weightage to your foreign degree unless you studied in Oxford, Harvard, etc. For them, you are another grad from any tier 2 institute in India.

Certifications won't help if you don't have experience. If you can't get a job right now. Aim a Kaggle 1x Master/Grandmaster, try AI fellowships, and make Open source contributions. It will improve your chances.
