DOWNTOWN TAMPA'S SYKES BUILDING & THE PUNISHER (2004) FILMING LOCATION

I took a walk downtown Tampa one Saturday afternoon and got some shots of the Sykes building and also passed by a couple of filming locations of The Punisher (2004). This is the first vlog I've ever done without editing. This is just a glimpse of downtown Tampa. I plan to do more Vlogs of downtown Tampa in the future. Thanks for watching. I loved the Punisher comics as a kid and for me that film you are referencing was the most accurate of the three on the Punished. I loved that one and didn't care for the other two. That's an interesting building though and that park sure had a lot of upkeep to do on it. Almost looked like a cemetery. It would definitely require a lot of edging!

lol yes the must spend a fortune in landscape and lawn maintenance! Happy to hear that you're a Punisher fan. I'm sure you're excited about the new series coming out on Netflix! The Punisher was the best part of second season of Daredevil in my opinion. Did you see it? Thanks for watching buddy

Tampa Jay I didn't see that and didn't know about it. I also didn't know about the Netflix series. I'll have to keep a lookout for them both!

Interesting place. That concrete garden was like no other garden I've ever seen. I didn't see the movie but enjoyed the bit of history about it.

The one across the street. I just did a build out on the 26th floor. It was the tallest building in the southeast united states from 1976-1984 when Atlanta started building skyscrapers

Wow! Love that building... So damn impressive! Thanks for the history on it all man, you're pretty quizzed up. I can remember watching that movie years ago, *spoiler* loved the part where he pretends he's burning a dude but its actually an ice pop haha. Nice to see some of downtown Tampa! Looks like an epic place to live. Another great upload my friend :D

Sykes started as Nations bank I recall. 1990 fierce competition between NCNB and Barnett Bank. Great times DT in 1990

River gate tower aka "the beer can building" is actually the tallest limestone building in the US

Wasn't that museum ( 2:54 )the external shot of Travoltas nightclub? Where the Punisher shot him? My wife and I have been considering a move to Florida for some time, and that Punisher film made me seriously consider Tampa! I'm a Punisher fan too. Not the greatest film but I still liked it. Great video Jay!

Tampa is a great place to live the only thing I dislike about it is the rush hour traffic, but there is so much always going on here. I'm blessed to live in such a cool place.
