My brother has a condo at the distillery, his balcony actually overlooks the old distillery building. He was lucky, he bought when they first started building in the area.

Love what the owners did with the Distillery District. Walked by it more than a few times decades ago but I believe it was used just for film productions back then. Balzac's looks like a wonderful place to have a coffee.

I haven't been in that area for years. Is so nice of you to do the walking for us. Toronto these days looks a little sad,on the other hand I think we are taking the right attitude considering what is happening now. As soon as the pandemic is under control i'll invite you to try my Snichels (no sure is the right spelling) or as we called in Uruguay : milanesas. Stay safe amigo,me need you.

Not the same as it was as a kid in the 80's ! Even big changes after living in Queen Bathurst area from 96 to 04! The days of a bachelor apartment in a real building for less than 400 a month has long passed by! Checked a few months ago and now its something like 1200r + utilities !!!

@@edkarter7062 Hey Ed, my time in downtown Toronto was in the early 70's, and then again in 81-82. Rents started going sky high later in the 80's. I'm amazed you found a bachelor's apt. for $400 in the 90's.

@@mikekirk1513 378 I think it was ! Also less than 1/3 of space that I have now! You had a pretty good part of time in the city! For sometime in mid 70's can remember being in High Park hand feeding chipmunks ! My friend Fred was a 18 year old kid from Nova Scotia in 1969 also my birth year and have heard some stories and he could spot what had changed since then !! Tour guide historian and friend all in one! Not that I needed the tour part! Definitely no shortage of weed stores now!

There was a time that I would have wanted a condo (comment in reference to when you walked by 89 Church St. and pointed out a new development). But now they are effin' everywhere and are expensive to boot.

Born in city! Spent lots of Saturday nights roaming around in 80's. Late 80's was driving up and down Yonge just because. Last time lived in city was from 96 to 04! Had a nice streak of Friday morning walks! Not much to do when you get off work at 5:45 am !

@7:49 SO sad to see homeless people. Not just Toronto it's same everywhere in the so-called developed world. Im no bleeding heart lefty, and maybe they somehow *deserve* it, but something tells me it is just so deeply wrong.
@JorgePetraglia2009
@JorgePetraglia2009 3 жыл бұрын
Dave Murphy : it is deeply wrong. With what we achieve in this amazing country homeless people shouldn't exist. Hey,I have a solution : let use the empty offices in downtown to house them. By the way : these people are not homeless,they are "houseless".
