Winnipeg known as the "Gateway to the West", Winnipeg is a railway and transportation hub with a diversified economy. This multicultural city hosts numerous annual festivals, including the Festival du Voyageur, the Winnipeg Folk Festival, the Jazz Winnipeg Festival, the Winnipeg Fringe Theatre Festival, and Folklorama. Winnipeg was the first Canadian host of the Pan American Games. It is home to several professional sports franchises, including the Winnipeg Blue Bombers (Canadian football), the Winnipeg Jets (ice hockey), and the Winnipeg Goldeyes (baseball). (Wiki)

Hello, Cesar..Just wondering, (at the moment it is just curiosity, I am from BC )is it realistic to be able to rent an affordable(under 1100) one or two bedroom apartment in Winnipeg, what about close to city core or Exchange district , also..is Downtown a safe area? There are a lot of contrasting rumours about Winnipeg..

Hi Winnipeg from SW Ontario. I've never been to MB. Looks like a nice town but I heard it's dangerous? Is that true?
@WinnipegChannel
@WinnipegChannel 7 жыл бұрын
Some areas of the city can be dangerous and especially when young members of criminal groups take to the streets to show their willingness to their leaders. They attack people without any reason and are very traumatized. It is better not to appear in such areas unnecessarily. There's a lot of security in downtown and it's pretty safe. There are many good areas with normal inhabitants where it is always safe.

Hi, I am not crazy about Winnipeg. It is not good for me and not bad. I spent few years in the USA. The US has a much better climate and weather, higher population and more different activities and fun. But Canada has own advances like almost free medicine. In the US people can get a bill from a clinic for $50 000 -100 000 or more, and fun of the life could disappear. It is what never happens here in Canada.

It is worth living in Manitoba or not, it depends on a lot. Only you can decide whether it's worth it or not. There is a lot of socialism in Manitoba. For example, here even autoinsurance belongs to the province and this insurance is very good.

@@jeremiahkevin9360 The University of Manitoba hosted a good amount of international students when I was completing my undergraduate degrees in Psychology (with a Management minor) and Law! The university has experience with supporting international students with their transition to university/Canada and their studies, and it is one of the most affordable options for pursuing a university education. The affordability aspect is particularly so regarding the availability of affordable rent and housing (and options, too!) in the Downtown Winnipeg area and areas close(r) to the Fort Garry campus.

Well, I'd almost move back on the strength of housing affordability, but the weather trumps that for me. Lived 12 years in Charleswood and it nearly killed me. If you're not getting lost in a blizzard going to the PO, you're being eaten alive in the sweltering summer as you madly socialize before winter again sets in. Doubt we'll ever own a house here in this economic climate, and the so-called Asian invasion, unless my ahem 649 retirement plan works out. Great memories though. Skating at Eric Coy or Assiniboine, fishing at Lake of the Woods. Tunnels under the snow, snowmobiles on the river. Good times.

It should be the U of Manitoba or the U of Winnipeg I think. I do not know about annual tuitions, but will do videos about Winnipeg Universities on this channel and try include useful information in my videos. One of the next videos is about the U of Winnipeg. Just follow Winnipeg@Channel.

Really good advice is: Go to Winnipeg Universities websites and contact them. They have professional personal whose job answer all questions. It helps you understand prices/tuitions. About which is the best? Should be number one is U of Manitoba, second is U of Winnipeg. I dont know about Canadian Mennonite University and Université de Saint-Boniface is the French speaking one.

Looks 1000 times worse in 2022 after Bowman became Mayor in 2014. He is much to blame.

Переехал из Красноярска в Виннипег, чувствую себя как дома: ушатанные дороги(на ремонт подвески 700 баксов отдал за 2 месяца), чоткие индейские пацанчики в отдельный районах, морозы.

Ruslan Amirov Да есть такое. Местами похоже на Россию, но в целом культура, ментальность и особенно госсударство другое.

July 9, 2013, was a Tuesday. Not many people or much traffic. Some blocks have no trees at all -- a virtual city, like The Twilight Zone. This would be a good city if you were a zombie or had a lobotomy. I bet electroconvulsive therapy is popular past time.
