How to refoam a JBL C1 speakers, without taking the dust cup off, and the foam goes behind the cone.

hi thanks for the very valuable demo I really don't understand why they keep on using this bloody foam Rubber is never ending
@skipperbentdk2 жыл бұрын
For anyone reading in the future: Dont be a cheap like me and buy the foam from china as it barely holds the back of the cone. Also I seem to have trouble getting PVA glue to adhere the foam to the metal frame, so use neoprene glue like the expert in the video recommends :)

#question Help me please. I have the JBL On Air Control 2.4, but I have the problem that only the speaker with the power input works and the other one doesn't (yes both LED`s are green). I connected them as per the description with speaker cables - it's so frustrating. I lost the remote, but I can live with it since I can control mute and volume from my PC's settings. Does anyone have an idea how I can fix this?
@doxzlaborathory6 ай бұрын
Well its complicated to answer that, you need tools to check if amp is working for that speaker, and if its working, than you need to trace signal to find fault

What's the idea behind two layers of glue?
@doxzlaborathory2 жыл бұрын
You can do it with one layer, but with two is easier, the foam doesn't react so much and they make faster and stronger connection

Sintelan, od njega se vesanje uvije, treba sacekati da se lepak osusi pa tek onda lepiti, postoji i lepak za sundjer od koga vesanje ne reaguje ali je malo sporiji proces susenja pa nije za ovaj video

Hi, what type of sound you are using for move testing?

For bass speaker, you can use some bass boosted songs from you tube, or you can use some 50Hz signal

is all the glue still wet, when music is played to center the thing
@doxzlaborathory Жыл бұрын
Yes but its holding enough to make the adjustments if needed
@Beautyoutofruin4 жыл бұрын
How do you know that the voicecoil is correctly centred ?
@doxzlaborathory4 жыл бұрын
i play 30Hz signal, or bass boosted music, and than you can hear if coil is centered
@Beautyoutofruin4 жыл бұрын
That’s not the correct way to do it, the coil need to be centred before you glue the assembly to the basket.
@doxzlaborathory4 жыл бұрын
@@Beautyoutofruin i glue surround and cone, when that is done, i glue the out surface, and than when you play music, the coil wants to be centered, because of the magnet, he center it and magnetic field pushes it in the right direction, and while glue on the basket is still fresh you can correct it... Without taking out the dust cap and destroying the original look, i do this for a few years and never have the problem, after me you can play 15Hz and it will be fine. Sometimes when you take of the dust cup and use foil to center it, if the basket is not well made it can be the problem, many baskets are bent or twisted... After this assembly there are no problems and the speaker looks and sounds like brand new. There are other ways, but i use this because its fast, speaker looks like original and it never makes a problem
@Beautyoutofruin4 жыл бұрын
I’ve been doing this for over 32+ years for a living. You should be able to remove the dust cover nicely, if you cannot (because of the types of glue) replace it with the equivalent. Your method is a way, but not accurate way of centring, the cone flexes so too does the coil. There are some drivers that this method will not work due to narrow gaps between coil windings and top plates etc. I’ve seen it all.

@@Denis-do7xo well, it looks like a ground problem, you may check if the amp is grounded. Or maybe add a resistor between preamp and amp, maybe 1000 Ohm, from channel + to - or ground, it depends what kind of hum is it. In most cases its amp input, too sensitive, so you make a little connection with -, it works like potentiometer on the preamp
