This is the best interview I've found with D'Arcy Carden so far. For some reason she often ends up speaking about how great her co-stars are for most of the time, and here I got to actually learn some things about her :) Thank you!

When we started, very few did. Then more. And now, it is the norm. There are 3 often repeated shooting spaces. And a couple others I sometimes use. People tend to relax here a bit more. And I prefer shooting off of junket or press days, so the space is free too.

It plays into the established and much documented phrase "oral tradition" which is a practice that dates back to the beginning of humanity. So no, verbal will not do the job.
