Hope to see this guy in bigger roles. At the same time I love that he acts purely for the passion of it and goes for whatever character he finds interesting regardless of how little screen time he'll get. I've watched that 4 minute scene of the gaunt man in Flight multiple times and it still captivates me. Spectral was great as well. Hoping the best for JBD (:

This is a great interview, love the way you just let him talk. He seems to be a genuinely kind, humble person despite his great roles in many major films.

He always leaves such an impression in all his roles, whether it's a supporting or minor character. In all his movies (Flight, Shame, Iron Man 3), he looks different in every movie - he's a real chameleon. Although, I saw The Lone Ranger at the movie three days ago and it was the first time I started to recognize him. James has a exciting future ahead of him.

Chameleon is how I use to describe Kevin Spacey. Did a ton of movies playing smaller roles. Too bad he went down the path he did.

Same here, I went to TLR, and while I did actually love the movie (critics can go to hell) I walked away pretty impressed with JBD, so when i looked him up, I was shocked he was the co-villain in Ironman 3. What a chameleon. I hope nothing but the best for him, and Armie Hammer, both promising rising stars. Tom Cruise, Brad Pitt and Johnny Depp wont be here forever, somebody has to replace them!

i'd basically agree, badge is the tops. i remember seeing him back in lord of the flies when i was a kid and being bowled over. if not for denzel, then i'd 100% agree: james stole the whole picture. he got like 3 minutes in the movie, and it was one of - if not the best - walk on role i'd ever seen. maybe mickey rourke in the pledge. maybe, i guess it's not a contest. but james is such a tuned in fellow and never overstates any role's voice, but never understates any role's humanity. he walks a fine line.

I know, I saw that, he was the guy who blew Leo away. I think it's kind of cute, that in the interviews, he may be from New York, but he does sound more like a country boy, not a New Yorker, which is a change of pace. NYC is not all of New York, but just a fraction of it. My family is from up in the Buffalo area.
