I wish man. Vanced isn't compatible with Android Auto unfortunately so yeah... there's ads. But the way I look at it, we have ad free options everywhere else so losing one battle in the war isn't much.

Normally it won't show on the homescreen in the car (like you see it in my thumbnail) until we use it once. So to find it the first time we'll have to go into the apps section. I do this on camera at 3:30 if you need a visual of this. After we select it from the app section page moving forward it'll be displayed on the homepage as a quick section option. Also keep in mind If we use other apps on Android Auto there's a chance it'll replace CarStream in the quick section tab on the homepage. In this case we'll just have to go into the apps section again to select.

Nothing for iPhones and usually the Carstream app is full screen by default. Different cars do have different Android auto designs though. Some are full screen by default and others have more of a half and half type screen (especially cars with smaller screens. But if you meant how to remove the navigation from the homepage display... On my Android Auto design I just have to select another app on the homepage to replace it with.

Not sure when it comes to insurance but CarStream can be uninstall if needed. Plus everything is coming from our cell phones not the car itself so my educated guess is no. If you're referring to the car warranty that is.

Can't get the download to appear when clicking the button or multiple times in the AAA app

As long as we give the AAAD app permission to download (shown at 1:32 in this video if needed) and we didn't download anything else besides CarStream (since AAAD only gives 1 free download a month) it should work. In case you already downloaded something besides CarStream, at the bottom within AAAD it'll says something like you have 0 downloads. To answer your first question, after the recent Android Auto update we have to select the icon (maybe twice) in order to remove the spit screen. For example, mine is split on Google Podcasts, Google Maps and something else random. To make a certain app full screen, Google Maps for this example, I just have to select the Google maps icon or the part of the split screen with Google Maps a couple times.

@DownloadingPirate Waze app just got an update a few days ago that added a full-screen feature, so now that's working.

But after re-downloading the app I got the option to select a version but the latest one just keeps loading

No, we can't.

I educated guess is yes. Since Android Auto works through Uconnect as well. Plus the source is still coming from our phones. For example, if I rented a car with Uconnect, any Android Auto compatible app on my phone (like CarStream in this video, Google Maps and so on) will display as soon as I plug my phone up. Long story short, Uconnect is just a touchscreen system for some brand of cars. Like my Hyundai has a Hyundai branded system. But Android Auto (and CarPlay for iPhones) is universal (no matter the system, all of them supports Android Auto and CarPlay).

If I'm not mistaken you could use the other app within AAAD called AAStream but I don't recommend it. It doesn't work long term.

I don't believe that's possible. Putting 1st party services like Netflix isn't really compatible so I doubt a 3rd party IPTV service would be compatible.

That happens normally, even happened to me in this video (as I mentioned at 1:52). But after selecting it a second time it should work as long as you gave the app permission to install other apps (the previous step in this video).

Yup, i did exactly this but it only asked if it could get acces to photo's, media etc which i declined, after that i pressed carstream again but no pop up window.. gonna browse the web some more when i get home though. Thank you for this reply allready! 😃

Yeah we have to allow permission to allow AAAD to download Carstream. Without allowing it we'll get the issue you're having. On my phone this step my look a little different but this is normal if you have a different phone. I say that because if you only got one pop up asking for permission then that's your prompt to allow it to install Carstream.

It's normally very slow on our phones so we have to tough through it to sign in unfortunately. Sometimes flipping the phone making it full screen helps.

Yes, should work in any car with Android Auto as long as are phones are compatible with it.

No. Only AAAD is needed to install Carstream. After Carstream is installed we can uninstall AAAD and use Carstream without anything else.

Seems like the latest phones has more restrictions unfortunately.

It's voice search only, most likely for safety reasons. I didn't like it myself at first but the voice search works really well in my car.

There maybe some issues on newer Android phones. I'm still trying to figure out a way around it.

If it's a new phone, I believe that added something that blocks 3rd party Android Auto apps. Most likely for safety. But if it's an older phone or tablet (with a system older than Android 14) it should still work. It does take a couple tries before it shows up on your car's dashboard. When I did it it didn't show up until I left the car and got back in later to try.

It's on my website, it's called ReVanced. I had a video here explaining it but KZfaq took down my other Vanced alternative app video. So in case they double back I just took down the recent video myself. But yeah ReVanced is on the site. If you already installed MicroG with the original Vanced you're good to go. But MicroG is on my website too if needed.

Since it's made for the car screen it will have a lag at first. What helped me is turning the screen to landscape mode just so I can select the sign option. After that flip it back to the portrait mode to finish signing in.

If you haven't installed an app from a website before you'll have to give the browser app permission to install apps from unknown sources when prompted. You can also do this manually by going to the phone's settings > Apps or Applications > then select the web browser app and the unknown sources option to allow it.

With the way the carstream app works it wouldn't make a difference if the car had a touchscreen

As long as it's installed on your phone you should see it. But keep in mind the CarStream app will not be listed on the homepage of AndroidAuto at first. We have to find and browse the app selection menu and select it first.

It usually takes selecting the download option twice. Happened to me even in this video.
