Hey guys, it's a been a while since we discovered DPR IAN on the channel, thought I should check him out again because I REALLY enjoyed the MIITO Movie :) As always, these are just my thoughts and interpretation of the MVs, I got a little bit of help by doing a bit of research mid-reaction, just because of the subject matter and wanting to be on the right track with my thoughts :)

He's an incomparable musician

Hey there! Friendly neighborhood person with bipolar disorder here! I’m so glad you reacted to more DPR Ian. He’s a phenomenal artist and he’s worthy of all the love. And you’ve given the most thoughtful and nuanced reactions to these songs I’ve seen. Thank you so much for your respect and sensitivity to these themes. When I first discovered Ian, I was so shocked when I saw myself in his work. Like, so much. Like he had depicted some of my feelings in the most accurate and visceral way I’ve ever seen portrayed. Someone who has BEEN there. Because I’m always into deep dives, as I looked him up, I learned about his Bipolar diagnosis. Welp, damn. That explained it. Of course, everyone with Bipolar Disorder has different symptoms and severities, but he hit the nail on the head with this one. He showed the oppressive, disorienting, despairing, electrifying, spinning feelings and provokes such a visceral experience that I’ve never seen depicted before, ANYWHERE. In any medium. As for No Blueberries, I think you were on to something with the dislike/avoidance of taking Valium. He’s spoken about how his Bipolar 1 is the type that gives him manic episodes in which he has the energy and inspiration to do a lot of his work. Even though it can be self destructive (he tries to stay off social media during manic episodes and gets tattoos he didn’t mean to) it’s fun, it’s pleasurable, and you feel invincible. Of course you want to stay that way, at the expense of parts of your life (like relationships). So perhaps this song is in part about not wanting to take “downers” like Valium because it takes him to a place he doesn’t want to be emotionally. Your analyses were great and I don’t really have anything to add except I, too, have never heard of Valium as blueberries. Maybe it’s a street name or something? I’m too old and boring to know.

Christian for me is the definition of a full artist, using his life experiences to create art that it's this beautiful! The entire dpr crew is so talented, please check out dpr live when you have some time, it's really worth it! much love as always! ♡

As I’m literally sitting here prepping lunch with blueberries as part of my fruit. Part of mental illness is also not wanting to take your meds, sometimes you start to feel better because of your meds and think you ARE better so you don’t think you need them. Sometimes you start to just for some reason resent the medication you take, so “no blueberries” can also be that. He likes when he doesn’t have to take it, he hates taking it which is why it’s represented as a monster, if you were to look at blueberries meaning his anxiety medication.

The term genius is thrown around way too much but DPR Ian really is extraordinary - his creativity & artistry is just off the scale. Both of his solo albums are on constant repeat for me x

The artistry he brings makes me fall in love with his music

It's impossible to express the inner landscape of bipolar, but his genius achieves the impossible. As a fellow Aussie I have to concede that his move to South Korea was the best thing for his growth and development as an artist. We miss out on having him live but the world is gifted with his brilliance. People without disorder probably didn't notice him standing in front of the ORDER sign, then step aside. He brilliantly visually showed the swings from order to disorder. Those with disorder see the many complex layers and subtle meanings in his videos. I don't like blueberries with my icecream either.

There’s no one doing anything like DPR crew, they’re amazing, and all of them have something to prove in different aspects. It’s insane how talented they are and on their own! The Astronaut in the diner is DPR LIVE! He has many references to astronaut in his own music videos. You can watch his mv "Kiss me + Neon" that are also directed and edited by Ian. Also, I saw someone saying that they think that your friends are always there for you, so Dpr Live picking up Ian, is to help him and when they're driving in the car straight at the blueberry monster it's like your friends helping you fight with your fears. I think that might be a good interpretation of those scenes with Dpr Live

Sometimes music doesn't feels like sad or emotional but songs and video's meanings make me cry because I want to run from my self too but I know I can't

DPR Ian is one of my favourite solo artists, he's complete, he's real, he shows his inner demons like no one else does... just the fact he faces his troubles in such a head-on way makes me so proud of him... thanks for all the respect you show for him and his art. I love you to bits as well, you know that. Love the way you are transparent as well. This is what I love in you the most, and your brain, and the amazing way you use it. I might have missed it being mentioned in the sea of comments, but, just in case it wasn't, there's actually a documentary about his experience making the EP that So Beautiful and No Blueberries comes from on the DPR channel. Wouldn't mind a reaction to it, but if you're interested in hearing him talk about his creative process I would give it a watch. Gosh I didn't know either about the valium being called blueberry ..... now a little bit of my own experience with anxiety and depression... he represents it so well, cuz we feel suffocated and we want to fight and at the same time we don't know what to do, blueberries are so attractive but still, I do not want them on my ice cream cake either... i just try to face the demons and fight them, though suffocated... this music video, the no blueberries one, touches me so deeply... DPR is really brave...

If I’m not mistaken, in mito documentary DPR Ian said that blueberry monster also represents people he doesn’t want to interact with, but can’t really get rid of.

And I just wanted to say I’m pretty sure from what I’ve picked up on and work Ian has talked about when he’s got the the blind eye that means the person that you’re looking at is Mito not Ian which makes so beautiful kind of even sadder because he looks really lonely. if you remember the backstory for his album that he released last year it’s the origins of how Mito got to this point. he loved his god so much but he ended up either getting betrayed or betraying him so he was cast out and now he’s trying to be the main character of something while not having anyone. That’s just my opinion I always thought mito is just very very lonely.

DPR IAN "Moodswing In To Order" was imo the best album of 2022, no kidding. You should check it out, even if it's just on your own. You will f*n LOVE IT

I think the last scene comes to say that even though everything happened in his head he is still wounded, the wounds are mental
