The foundation of the nuclear program was laid by Dr Abdus Salam and eventually it was taken forward by a group of scientists including Dr A.Q.Khan. Episode 3 of ‘Project 706’ goes back to the 1950s and how the nuclear program evolved into the weapons program.

Abdul Salam, a Noble Laureate was one of the founders of Pakistan Atomic Energy Commission and Pakistani Space program and both were brain child of him. In 1960s, Pakistan was working on clean nucleur energy and was ahead of many developing nations. But in 1970s when India was close enough to their nucleur test Smiling Buddha, Pakistan shifted the policy of nucleur energy towards nucleur bomb. Later on Dr. AQ khan came up with centrifuge technology and speedup the nuclear program which would have took 10 years more otherwise. Meanwhile in 1974, qadianis were declared Non-Muslims and Abdus Salam was sidelined already. With regards to Pakistan's space program, Abdus Salam was the first chairman who held the office up till 1967. Due to US support in 1960s, Pakistan became third country in Asia and 10th country in the world who could launch probes in stratosphere in 1962. In addition, Pakistan was first nation among developing countries to have space program. But In 1980s, Space research was taken over to speedup Missile program in order to counter Indian threat. Hence further development in Pakistan space program halted. Also the instability in political arena did its part in both the programs. Later on during the 2000s under military dictatorship of Musharraf, Space Program was revamped. For Pakistan Atomic energy program, it was halted due to political instability and shift towards atomic weapons. Pakistan still have two main nuclear energy power facilities which were made in 1960s. No new facility has been completed yet But after 2010, 4 more units were added to same facilities of Chashma and Karachi with the help of China. Pakistan atomic energy commission was a masterpiece still it is but Pakistanis didn't utilize its potential and ahead start along with SUPARCO.

Fantastic series. Pakistanis may not realize this given the silly political situation on the ground today, Pakistan’s attaining its nuclear capability has been the single biggest achievement after the founding of Pakistan. In the future, it is this capability that will set Pakistan apart from others who are victimized since they don’t have this deterrence. Every single scientist, technician, military officer and jawan involved in this program is deserving of being called our national hero! The world will do its level best to put down this program by claiming this has become a liability, or that Pakistan is economically weak etc etc. What we must realize is that this is precisely because we are a nuclear state. We are kept under economic pressure because we are the ONLY Muslim nation to have this capability and that does not sit well with the current US led world order. We ALL should be immensely grateful and proud that we are a NUCLEAR POWER! 🇵🇰

Although Pakistan an ungrateful and petty country refuses to honor Dr Abdul Salam for his invaluable contributions to nuclear science and technology in Pakistan; however he is honoured abroad through the International Centre for Theoretical Physics (ICTP) at Trieste as well as at the International Atomic Energy Agency in Vienna. Pakistan is a damned nation for not honouring its two Nobel laureates: Dr Abdus Salam and Malala Yusafzai, who however are lauded internationally. Pakistan has fallen under the clutches of Islamofascists who also have penetrated the military and political parties.

A Q Khan and PAEC were two different entities. Khan Sahib enriched the urinium to weapon grade and then PAEC made the N bomb. Actual thing is the weapon grade urinium. Bomb is just assembling certain parts (of course not easily available)

@@umerjavednisar I Agree but one more fact is that countries fear developing atomic bombs due to sanctions especially after NPT etc and many countries have declared them nuclear free. In fact South Africa abandoned their nuclear bomb program by their own will. Germany and Holland etc can develop atomic bombs (as AQ khan carried the blueprints from there) but they themselves never Intended to because US and NATO provide them nuclear umbrella. So making atomic bomb is not that difficult as you presume if you are capable in nuclear fission and nucleur energy. Both share basic physics.

اہم موضوع پر چند ذاتی تعصبات کو حاوی نہ کرتے تو آپ کی ویڈیو زیادہ بہتر ہوجاتی۔ پاکستان نے باضابطہ طور Non Waepon Nuckear Technologyکی پالیسی 1953 میں اختیار کی تھی، وزیر خارجہ ظفر اللہ اس پالیسی کے معمار تھے اور اسکی وجہ سے پاکستان طلباء کو امریکی یورپی یونیورٹیوں اور اداروں میں تربیت کے مواقع ملے۔ پاکستان ایٹامک انرجی کمیشن 1955 میں قائم ہوا اور اسکا کبھی کوئ تعلق ڈاکٹر عبداسلام سے نہیں تھا پاکستان نے بھاری پانی کی تیاری بھی 1960 میں شروع کی ، ڈاکٹر عبدالسلام 1961 میں صدر پاکستان کے مشیر تعینات ہوئے۔ انہیں PIENSTEC کے قیام کا کریڈٹ بھی دیا جاتا ہے لیکن درحقیقت انکا نیوکلئر سائینس سے کوئ لینا دینا نہیں تھا۔ ڈاکٹر سلام تعلیمی اعتبار سے عملی انجینئر نہیں تھے، بلکہ وہ تھیوروٹکل فزکس کے ماہر تھے، انکا اصل کام خلائ تحقیق میں ہے۔ ڈاکٹر سلام 1961 سے 1974 صدر پاکستان کے سائنسی مشیر رہے، اس دوران چار صدر تبدیل ہوئے۔ ڈاکٹر سلام اس پورے عرصے میں لندن اور اٹلی میں مقیم تھے ، سال میں دو سے تین بار چند دن کیلئے پاکستان آ کر حکومت کو مشوروں سے نوازتے تھے۔ ڈاکٹر سلام کے کریڈٹ پر پاکستان میں ناسا کے خلائ راکٹ تجربات، پاکستان کا SERN کا حصہ بننا ،سپارکو کا قیام ، کینیڈا سے ایٹمی بجلی گھر کا حصول ، کینوپ کا قیام اور مصنوعی سیارے کی تیاری کا آغاز شامل ہیں۔ نیوکلئر سے انکا کوئ تعلق نہیں تھا۔ 1971 کی فوجی شکست کے بعد اسٹیبلشمنٹ کو نیوکلئر کی اہمیت سمجھ آگئ تھی، لیکن اس سے بہت پہلے چین کے ایٹمی دھماکے 1962 کے بعد اطلاعات مل رہی تھیں کہ بھارت ایٹمی ہتھیار تیار کررہا ہے، چنانچہ پاکستان میں یہ احساس موجود تھا کہ جلد ایٹمی ہتھیار کی طرف جانا پڑے گا۔ ملتان کانفرنس میں ڈاکٹر عثمانی اور ڈاکٹر سلام نے نیوکلئر ہتھیار کی طرف جانے اور no weapon policyکو ختم کرنے کی سختی سے مخالفت کی تو بھٹو صاحب نے ڈاکٹر عثمانی سے استعفئ لے کر ڈاکٹر منیر احمد کو ایٹامک انرجی کمیشن کا سربراہ مقرر کردیا۔ ڈاکٹر عبدالقدیر جب ایٹامک انرجی کمیشن سے منسلک ہوئے تو چھ ماہ بعد استعفی دے کر واپس ہالینڈ جانے لگے۔ انہوں نے بھٹو صاحب کو خط لکھا جس میں منیر احمد کو فراڈ قرار دیا اور بتایا کہ یہ صرف وقت اور لیسا ضائع کررہے ہیں۔ان میں نہ اہلیت ہے اور نہ ہی سنجیدگی کے ساتھ یہ ایٹمی ہتھیار تیار کرنا چاہتے ہیں۔ آخری بات یہ کہ اگر امریکا کا ایٹم بم ڈاکٹر اوپن ہائمر نے بنایا ہے تو پاکستان کا ایٹم بم قدیر خان نے بنایا ہے۔

ڈاکٹر عثمانی نے 1979 میں چاغی میں ایٹمی تجربہ کیلئے شافٹ (سرنگیں ) تیار کی تھیں۔ ڈاکٹرسلام پر 1973 کے بعد pienstec اور ایٹامک انرجی کمیشن میں داخلے پر پابندی لگ گئ تھی جسکا تعلق ایٹم بم پروجیکٹ کی راذداری سے تھا۔ لیکن ڈاکر سلام اسے ذاتی مسئلہ بنا کر بیٹھ گئے اور 1974 میں مذہبی معاملے کا بہانہ بنا کر پاکستان چھوڑ گئے اور انتہائ بدکلامی اور منفی پروپیگنڈا کرتے رہے۔ حالانکہ اس وقت منیر احمد ایٹامک انرجی کمیشن اور بشیر احمد ایٹم بم پروجیکٹ کے سربراہ دونوں قادیانی تھے

@@pax10report A person was selected in DC Sialkot office to serve British. His name was Ghulam Ahmed Qadiyani. British protected him & still protecting because Britishers needed a fatwa at that time & Ghulam Ahmed Qadiyani Served them well. He preached as Britishers wanted. If they claim that they are Muslims why 99.99% Muslims didn't accept them as muslims. Its very simple. No confusion. A Lier is claiming to be a truthful & by the way there was no role of Qadiyani's in making of Pakistan. I am Shia 😀 So don't try to play sectarian Card. Beleivers of Maula Ali (A.S) & Imam Hussain (A.S) also consider Qadyani's (Ahmadi) as Kafirs.

They consider Ghulam Ahmed Qadyani as Masiah, prophet نعوذبااللہ and many other beliefs like this. You don't know these facts? How childish question. You think all the scholars in Muslim worlds Shia or Sunni's , any where from the world consider them Non Muslims . You are questioning on the behalf of them but you don't know the reason?
