Humans care, our brains are structured for it and part of the reason is our ancient wiring for parenting. In this talk at the Roots of Empathy 2019 Symposium, Dr. Marsh lays out her research evidence for how and why humans are altruistic and how empathy is at the core of what she researches. She is the Director of the Laboratory on Social & Affective Neuroscience at Georgetown University and the author of The Fear Factor: how one emotion connects altruists, psychopaths, and everyone in-between
