HRT is awful for women. I had a total hysterectomy bc of "double ectopic pregnancy with complications" (massive ovarian/fallopian cysts). It was 1992, so I guess PCOS wasn't a Dx then. I was 21. I went on HRT and it made me a monster. If I wasn't suicidal and crying, I was raging. I literally bit clean thru my lower lip several times. I broke my knuckkes punching walls. I finally quit when I hurt my dog (and no, I still haven't forgiven myself). Within a few days of quitting, I was fine. Never had any symptoms I was warned I would get if I didn't take them. I'm in my early fifties and I just went thru middle age changes just like everyone else. Except that one thing.

Sounds like the doage was not correct for you. I'm 63. I waited too long to start HRT. I had painful physical symptoms before starting HRT. It has reversed the atrophy, low libido, and much more. I wish I had started earlier.

@@llong0267 I started at the minimum dose amount and kept going up from there. My doctor kept saying what you're saying, that I didn't have the right dose, but the only thing to try was more. We tried adding other meds too but nothing helped. I took HRT for a little over a year and a half before I threw it out, not one stable day in that whole time. There's zero reason to take it, I never had any of the issues you talk about AFTER quitting HRT, but while on it, my tits were tender, I got headaches, I had hot flashes and bad acne, all in addition to violent outbursts and suicidal thoughts. My husband was very supportive, but it was a huge strain on him as well. At first, he was like me, thought I NEEDED it, but after I quit he said he was glad to have the old me back.

Now I'm in my 70s and on a keto diet im wondering how many of my health issues in early life were western diet related. I had very heavy monthly bleeding and finally had a hysterectomy. It had made me anaemic. I did manage to get pregnant fortunately. There are other things I struggled with healthwise that are now on the back burner. I wonder if they were diet-related too. We got no or wrong advice.

we are becoming infertile for another important reason - the treatment of most women worldwide is not the best and I regret that I had kids - their father was an abuser and they took after him so I have been living in hell for 20 years now and the kids are not even 18 yet, so I am stuck with being a slave to nasty teens. If I could go back I would never have kids even in perfect health, abuse ruins it all.
