ABOUT CHICAGO MED
From Emmy Award-winning executive producer Dick Wolf, "Chicago Med" is an emotional thrill ride through the day-to-day chaos of the city's newest state-of-the-art trauma center and into the lives of the courageous doctors, nurses, and staff who hold it all together, including Dr. Will Halstead (Nick Gehlfuss), Dr. Daniel Charles (Oliver Platt), Sharon Goodwin (S. Epatha Merkerson), Dr. Ethan Choi (Brian Tee), Dr. Dean Archer (Steven Weber), Maggie Lockwood (Marlyne Barrett), Dr. Crockett Marcel (Dominic Rains), Dr. Stevie Hammer (Kristen Hager) and Dr. Dylan Scott (Guy Lockard).
Together they will confront Chicago's most critical medical cases and challenging ethical dilemmas with courage, compassion and state-of-the-art treatment. Inspired by ripped-from-the-headlines cases, "Chicago Med" will weave cutting-edge medicine with the personal drama that comes with working in such a high-intensity environment.
Chicago Med is available now on Peacock, the new streaming service from NBCUniversal. Watch thousands of hours of hit movies and shows, plus daily news, sports, and pop culture updates. Stream now on Peacock.

I love Dr. Charles! He knows how important it is to keep lines of communication open and to open new ones for those who need it. The spark of hope I saw in Abbie was awesome! The actress did an amazing job looking broken, shocked, scared and hopeful about getting treatment she needed.

Damn, she's a really good actress! That line about cracking people open was really awkward (felt like something out of a theatrical melodrama) but she delivered it in a really good way that made it sound like normal off-the-cuff speech.

It's quite sad, the things psychiatrists and other mental therapists have to do sometimes, just to restore someone's autonomy to a state where they can make their own decisions (which by its nature is somewhere around "doubtful"). It's a necessary evil

It really is crazy how it feels when the fog of delusion is finally lifted off of you. I know the feeling well, and it was like everything regained its color, like everything became so much clearer and the toxic intrusive thinking was just... Gone. I didnt think it was possible, but it happened and i will always be thankful that my doctor helped me when i blurted out what was happening to me in a moment of lucidity.

Of the 3 Chicago TV series Chicago Fire used to be my favorite until I started watching Chicago Med. Mental illness is confusing to everyone involved. It's no wonder that the general public doesn't understand it.

If it gets questioned, they can always say that the patient was a danger to themself or others, then it is completely justified.

I’m just going off this small clip and it’s seems like she wasn’t mentally stable enough to make her own decisions before the medication. When someone isn’t fit to make their own medical decisions and there’s no family members or guardians/caretakers to make those decisions, it’s completely legal to preform medical treatments on them.
@zilesis1
@zilesis1 Жыл бұрын
considering it's both legal and ethical to comit patients to a psychiatric ward against their will if the doctors find them mentally unfit to make their own decisions, giving a patient medication to get them out of a delusional state and into a position where the're actually deemed legally competent seems fairy tame
@emilydoe4139
@emilydoe4139 Жыл бұрын
@@zilesis1 With patients that are illegally incompetent, the question of legality or morality wouldn’t cross my mind at all. This one is iffy because she didn’t seem at the line of incompetent to warrant such behavior.
