The spin Hall effect has been one of the most researched areas of spintronics, with multiple unexpected new phenomena arising from its studies. Its origins, both intrinsic and extrinsic, have been studied both theoretically and experimentally, giving us now a rich picture of this phenomenon which is present in many branches of spintronics. Here some fundamental concepts of spin hall effects have been discussed.
