Wow, looks like one of our Florida springs except I saw lots of small fish but no big fish where ours are the other way around.
@thomasminesi73662 жыл бұрын
Yes exactly. I am going there again for a week, leaving this week-end. It's the same system as blue spring in Florida, that I want yo visit one day. But Fwa is 22km long. The big fish are tiger fish and labeochromis.

Hi Thomas, I'm just curious. The Congo tetra (Phenacogrammus interruptus) is a popular aquarium favorite & yet? We've never got a chance to see them in situ, via videos. Are they really hard to find?
@thomasminesi73663 жыл бұрын
They are not very hard to find but hard to film. They are in a part of the pool malebo with a lot a water flow and the water is not clear at all. So at least you come very close to them without afraid them you wont have any good video. So it s very very difficult. I will tey one day

@@thomasminesi7366 I see. Well, thank you for your kind reply, Thomas. If it were too dangerous to film Congo tetras in Malebo Pool? Then it's ok, really. I am quite an adventurer myself so I am no stranger to danger; all real & ever present threat to personally safety. Please, keep up the good work! It's very educational, thank you! 👍👍

Fantastic! Thank you! I guess it's not possible to actually snorkel there due to crocodiles?
@thomasminesi73663 жыл бұрын
No you can snorkel there without any risque regarding fauna. No crocodiles. The only "risk" is bilharziose in the part where the is stagnant (no flow). But you just take one pils of médecine and it's gone. I have snorkel there and it's fantastic.

Hello Thomas - can you describe the original habitat from Tetraodon schoutedeni in Congo? Plants and water parameters? Thank you so much! Cheers Joerg

Hello never seen it my self in its natural biotope. I know where it occurred so I can give you some basic information. Temp 23C to 26C Ph 6 to 6.8 Generally lives underneath island of plants, like Ludgwigia sp, Eichhornia crassipes, and others that usually occur in Malebo pool (can't find the name in my head). If you want to see some pictures of that biotope there are plenty on my Instagram page Congo. Nature . Photography
