There are increasing reports of soldiers fleeing the battlefield. A military court in DR Congo has sentenced 25 soldiers to death for "fleeing" the enemy and violating orders. Earlier, in May, 8 officers were sentenced to death for "cowardice". For over two years, Congo's army has been fighting Tutsi-led M23 rebels, who are reportedly backed by Rwanda.
