Dr LeBlanc, I'm amazed about Terrestrial pragmatism. We need MSRs operating ASAP. On that priority, Terrestrial seems to be our best bet.

Heard the CEO, Simon Irish, on a podcast in Feb 2022. They've undergone 7 years of regulatory review with another to go. Not expected to go online until 2035. It's obvious that government regulators are the biggest obstacle to deploying ANY nuclear technology.

It's actually been less than 5 years of actual VDR work. 2016 was when pre-engagement with the regulator began (contracting, scheduling, etc). And it is not another year of work to complete VDR. All the submissions have been made. They will be assessed by the CNSC for probably 3 or so months before rendering their opinion. And no, it will not be 2035 for our first deployment. We could still hit 2030, provided that a site can be procured in 2022, and we believe it can.

Love this guy, however,Canada did not select this company ,and went with boiling reactor designs for its SMR's, maybe the US can help them but we already have NuScale, TerraPower,XEnergy,and Kairos Energy in various stages of development.

How do you quantify "Low Pressure"? ), zero? 14 psi? 200 psi?

Tellurium embrittlement or segregation of the Hasteloy-n and the additive to keep it from breaking the reactor down. Add the moderator that contracts and expands, which is your reason for changing the core, Uranium 233 as the fuel, not thorium 232, and a industry that is known to lie and not known until decades later.

This is probably not the right place to ask, but does anyone know if MSRs will generate Cherenkov radiation and cause the liquid to glow blue the way you see in current reactors' advertising and stuff? I know the salt is more or less clear/light blue-greenish but it would be pretty badass if it did glow. I'm giving myself the award for most useless question ever.
