Its pure karma when you read a comment and totally agree with it, in fact the point re Nobel peace prize was going to be part of my comment (so more karma) but even cooler than that is that we share a surname! Great comment and couldn't agree more. The Rich Roll podcast has finally come of age with this one.

Awesome interview, I've been a plant based yogi coming up for 3 years now after my doctor told me I had to go on blood pressure lowering tablets for life. I found Dean Ornish, read The China Study, found Dr Micheal Gregor and other plant based doctors.. I read Finding Ultra and got inspired by Rich Roll too to change my life. I I did change my lifestyle overnight so I didn't have to go on medication but didn't expect to have the weight loss and the six pack I've not seen for 20 years! I'm an ex soldier and was very fit for many years, when you leave the service you tend to take on board the same amount of calories but you do less physical exercise which results in putting on more weight than ever. It creeps up on you so slowly you just don't see it. Then you go to the doctor for a pain in the knee joint and they have you! They have their chance to deal drugs with you. Listen to what Dean, Anne and Rich are saying and you will improve your life immensely.

Yes, I've heard him speak about it a few time. She went to see Nathan Pritikin and his ways saved her life....saving lives from chronic disease by eating well has been known for decades, the food industry, dairy and pharmaceutical industries don't care, they just want to make money from making people sick then dealing them drugs. It's sad.

Don Wetherell Yup sad it is, and the steak-n-bacon eaters think they're badass eating all that, mocking us, but they're dupes, bamboozled by the industries who've stolen the tobacco playbook. "Aw, everything's bad for ya.' They just don't know the industries, and they don't see what they're driving toward

Add a healer who cleanses and detoxes you as I have and I'm healed, healthy and a great athlete. Plus I'm happy. The ugly protozoa and parasites can stay in you for 30 years or more before they die. A diet change will not kill them. So staying or getting healthy is finding a top healer who is invested in your life.

Blown away by this conversation. I have been Buddhist learning for several years and continued eating meat. After finally giving up the meat and becoming vegan I know that there’s a direct relationship between my mental health, spirituality and what I am putting in my body. I feel less aggression and anger and I attribute that to no longer consuming dead and decaying bodies. Everything becomes a meditation practice from preparing foods to eating them. I don’t need to be distracted anymore. I can be in the moment always because of my harmonious relationship with the world around me.

@@garythomas4936 To each their own, I live in the woods in an earth ship and know nature more than most. I've done survival training as well, if I had no choice and survival was at stake then it's acceptable to kill or to defend oneself, that is what I take from the hundreds of hours studying theology. Some are herbivores some are not. If you can kill with your bare hands then you are a carnivore :) I've learned plenty from the ancient texts (far older than the greeks) including the Emerald Tablets of Thoth and the book of Enoch (the original book of creation) all mention fasting for cleanliness and do not kill ANYTHING. We are not like other mammals we have a choice, that is what makes us different. but you do you.

@@garythomas4936 Actually, plant base is very easy and cheap compare to feeding carnivores. India is proof of that, most are vegetarians for thousands of yrs and overpopulated as well. Legumes are very cheap, sprouting is easy at home and cheap. All the nutrition can be found in the cheapest foods. The easiest cooking and least amount of product is needed. I have a Ph.D in nutritional science and a NMD as well, I base my knowledge on CURRENT science. But as I said you do you, if you want to believe all that nonsense go for it. But, I can assure you that eating plant base is easy and super cheap, shoestring budget actually. I went through MED school poor and broke with barely enough time to cook and I'm healthier than most people half my age. Bood test and analysis of my bio age is 18 yrs younger. That's enough proof for me. Good luck to you, I'm done here :))

Ann's candid awareness about being in a relationship makes a lot of sense as it does when Dean talks about eating right. However what makes things near impossible is finding a mate who wants to make the effort on both issues. As Ann said at the 107 min mark *when you join forces with people who share your sense of mission whether it's a lifestyle goal or a partnership of any sort it's a thrilling experience to be able to do things that you couldn't do alone* The vast majority of women at midlife who are on the personals say they want a healthy relationship but are far removed from realizing what is actually needed in making it a reality. They assume they know enough about love unaware that there is more to it than what they know as there is to eating healthy. What Dean Ornish is to a healthy diet is what Dr. Esther Perel is to healthy relationships but far too many men and women are intellectually impoverished by both. Of the few like me who want to live a more meaningful life, how can you do it when so many people don't give a rat's ass about themselves? it's depressing.

there is not a single study that shows vegans or omnivores have a single advantage. In all studies to date the primary factors that improve ones overall health is 1) eliminate sugar, including the fake sugars 2) remove highly processed grains, white flour 3) remove vegetable oils, 3C's cottonseed, corn and canola and 3S's safflower, soy and sunflower oil. 4) consume healthy oils coconut, avocado and olive oil. 5) Do IF Intermittent fasting in some form on a regular basis 6) meditate/prayer 7) exercise 8) sleep 9) socialize 10) don't smoke 11) use alcohol sparingly ... go ahead and eat whole foods, veggies, fruits, nuts and seeds, meat and dairy . Talking about the diet wars helped me work through my insecurities even though I have converted to veganism recently because I am still battling other people which affects me and what I believe. Once in a while, I do question omega 3s and organic meats because some of my family members have not been fully willing to give up meats. Through attentiveness and education, I as well as my young child have experienced the benefits of becoming vegan and beginning this journey of a healthy lifestyle. I don't intend to look back but there are people pulling my integrity to care for my family on the left and my intelligence on my right. I took myself off my statins and blood pressure meds after becoming a vegan. My dr wouldn’t take me off, he always said if it works why stop. I was keeping track of my blood pressure and my cholesterol levels dropped! Also I just had ear surgery and when the clinic called the next day to check on me they were surprised that I was out walking the dogs already, not in pain or dizzy and that I wasn’t taking the pain medication that was Rx’d for me. I know that I did great thanks to my WFPB way of eating! I walked into the clinic knowing all would go great and was relaxed! Preordered the audiobook!

Geesh, the Ornishes are deep. I always try to listen to the different WFPB doctors because they all have a slight spin on their signature diets, but I never EVER would have expected this from Dr. Ornish. Honestly, I've never thought about how I have to change my own mind while changing my body--I knew I had to overcome the voices in my gut that want cheese and find "willpower" to go that extra mile to cook dinner over ordering my favorite Chinese. However, I assumed my "change" was how people were reacting to ME and my weight loss (they became nicer to me because of my body) and that I would naturally become less depressed or hate myself less. This was on a new level. Great listen!

My all-time most watched/listened to show. This was the fourth time for me. Simply powerful and nourishing info. I wish I could work with the Ornish's. Now I remember why Dr. Ornish, Dr. Esselsyin, Dr, Kahn, Dr. Gregor, and the like are not on Dr. Phil's podcast or the Dr. Oz show. Dr. Garth Davis blew up "The Doctors" show he was on. Follow the money. Like Dr. T. Colin Campbel said, "The truth is a very stubborn thing, it doesn't go away."

Great interview. I’m a 51 yo woman. I’ve developed a lot of health problems namely fibromyalgia. No one who is gone plant-based discusses the grief over not being able to eat certain foods for me it’s dairy-based. I’m actually allergic to the caisson. so I have really bad issues when I eat it. I’ve been trying to eat mostly plant-based for the last two years. I pray the grieving goes away. It’s simple but not easy

It was a transformation that I can surely share with great enthusiasm. I would have not mind to get this view on fasting within the plant base diet and the effects/ thoughts.

Undo IT is like watching eternity breaking into time. Not like breaking into a safe. More like fragmenting into time. Yet coherent. All fragments are attached so it all works together. The pillars of UNDO IT all work together. Like the old parable; for those with eyes let them see and those with ears let them hear but understanding happens in the heart.

I think everyone needs to lighten the fuck up❤️ THIS IS A BRILLIANT WORKOF ART

Great video. I love Dr. Ornish. I've been on and off this way of eating since the early 80s. Right now, I'm having a hard time staying on track and losing some weight that I've put on while straying. Yes, I know what to do, and understand the addictive nature of today's processed foods... so... getting back on track. I have to admit that I fall short on the other aspects of their talk. Most people really don't want to live longer till they get to be my age... then... It's important. I am better off than a lot of people my age, but not really where I want to be. Much to learn, still.
