@@dr.harnet466 Rwanda works well for a limited number of people such as foreigners with no interest in the abuses local Rwandans suffer from the government, people who are too powerful to be targeted by the ruling party, ex. Bill Gates, Mo Ibrahim. If you are in this kind of category, be warned the ruling party may seize your assets and send you packing without trial. Check what happened to Rujugiro, Rwigara etc or just ask randomly how many Rwandans in the diaspora are willing to risk their capital in Rwanda. They are very few! A country with a president who cannot be prosecuted for treason, even after he has left office is a volcano waiting to erupt.

*Summery of the lessons from webinar.* Make an Unapologetic Decision To Succeed. Be Focused on your goal! Enter a low risk country, in a low risk industry and with a low risk business model. Find Perfect Product-Market Fit. What problem am I solving & for whom? How do I stand out from the competition? Focus on higher-end products for higher-end consumers. Sell to other businesses, sell to the upper classes, sell to the Diaspora and sell to wealthy foreign nations. Break down your numbers - know exactly how many units you need to sell each month, week and each day, to reach your goal. Spend MAJORITY (60-80%) of your time marketing & selling. Watch your expenses. TAKE MASSIVE ACTION!

Dr Harnet is based in Kigali? Make one mistake and you will be out of the country. Just lucky that you are just consulting. This is a ridiculously high-risk country. Not even Rwandans in the diaspora, who are desperate to invest back home, are trusting the leadership there. You are fine In Rwanda if you are a foreigner and willing to close your eyes to the injustices happening there and for as long as the top bosses think you are not causing them any trouble. You will struggle to find local creativity simply because there is no freedom of expression.

And as for those Rwandans returning, tell me the numbers because unlike you, I live with them in the diaspora and all categories together, they do not venture back to Rwanda despite having desire to do so. As Dr Harnet says, we are not in the business of hope. A country whose president can wake up one day and close borders with you Uganda; if you call it low risk and promising, you live in a fantasy land. Rwanda is good at selling fantasies! @@pepeinno1747 D.R Congo went through a bigger genocide with a death count of 20Milllion people by Belgian King Leopold with survives having their limbs cut off including children. DRC still have other problems till this day. 2 Million Nigerians were left to starve during the Biafra war as supplies were cut off. I have been with a Rwandan girl before and she has no real connection to Rwanda because of the genocide. She hasnt been 2 Rwanda since she was born and has resentment for Rwanda. This is not the same with Rwandese born in Rwanda. I never said Rwanda is low risk. There is conflict in my country as we speak. I will return there cos its my home and the economy must grow. That can't happen without the help of the Cameroon diaspora. Its not about convinience. Look at eastern Nigeria that almost went into war again. I don't mind doing business in western Nigeria or other peaceful parts. Cos when people don't have jobs they will pick up guns. Let's start creating job. We must be in the business of calculated hope... A lot of people doing business in unstable countries Nigeria included where the government is in league with Boko Haram.
